    blending essential oils

I tried drops of EO blends in jars of water, and they seem to be working very well, even after one week. Some have change over time. I even did some blends that I have done in soaps to compare the scent, and they are pretty true to the scent. This seems to work well if you want to use drops...

    Business license?

State Farm would not cover me for home based business but I contacted RLI also, and it is just as Bruce said. I myself would definitely get insurance and an LLC before selling anything, this will protect your personal property (home, cars, etc.). I think to get an LLC is around $50.00 (check...

this weekend has been really hard

Deborah: "this weekend has been really bad" to say the least. I am so sorry for your frightening weekend, but happy to hear your daughter is going to counseling. If she is running around naked due to drugs and alcohol that she willingly drank and took, it sounds like this is definitely a...

Why add sugar and/or salt to water before adding lye?

Kitn: Do you add the powdered sugar to the lye or do you add it at trace? Does the powdered work better or is it easier to dissolve?

What % of Castor Oil do you use

I have heard a number of different percentages. Some books and links I have read say do not exceed 5% while others say up to 15%. What would the best percentage be without hindering the smell or softness? I like the bubbles and creaminess, but also want a fragrant, hard bar.

    Sellers: sample size?

I bought a silicone mini loaf mold that makes six small loaves. Whenever I try new recipes, I make one small loaf instead of a large batch; this way if I don't like the scent, I don't have so much of it. If it turns out good, I make sample bars with it. I even made a wrapper for them that is...

    A crumbly mess--HELP!!!

Gardengate is right, the type of coconut oil does not matter. When you put a question mark there I wondered if you weren't sure of the amount or if it could have been a different oil entirely. Based on the website of the shop you purchased your items at, it looks like they are making cold...
