    Costco Mediterranean blend

Has anyone used this for soaping? If so, how do you calculate it into soapcalc or another lye calc? Thanks for helping as always!

Wow! You've been a busy bee! They look great!

    Water discount

Hi Carolyn, I've used both water and oil soluble TD, and haven't noticed a differance. For some reason, white is the hardest color for me to achieve, despite using oils/butters that should help :-( I'll use your suggestion as a starting point and see what happens.

    Hardness in use

If you are wanting a vegan bar, you need to drop the beeswax too. Good luck and happy soaping!

    Water discount

I haven't chosen a specific recipe or FO yet. I know other things will add to acceleration, but my mottling (rivers) isn't something I want, and the only answer I've found is to decrease my water. Is there anything else I can do? I'm thinking of decreasing my water little by little to see how...

    calculating oils

Hi terr! Are you only able to weigh out whole numbers on your scale? I think generally, the rule of thumb is to round down the lye and up the oil, but your combined rounding is adding quite a bit extra oil if you do that and superfat. Have you run the new numbers through soapcalc? I would do...

    Water discount

Up until now, I've been using soapcalcs default setting and using full water. After reading much on the effects of water and mottling, I want to reduce my water, as I often get the mottling. My concern is that it's going to speed up trace significantly. My ultimate goal is 1.4:1 water :lye...

Just to clarify. Are you looking to purchase these items, and sell them, or are you planning on making them yourself? If you are planning on making them yourself, not_ally & 100% natural are both correct. Research and time are your only options. You are certainly in the right place, so welcome...

What is the likely culprit for itchy red bumps on my arms?

Heat, as in when you were showering, causes vasodilation. Just the water alone can cause itching. If you were using the lemongrass soap on an area that is sensitive or irritated, this can cause a rash like you were explaining. Do you remember if you scratched your arms in the shower while...

    For parents of young kids...

Littlecrazywolf, I wholeheartedly agree. My approach at parenting was the very same. Children have an inmate sense, and forcing children to hug if they aren't comfortable with that, only chips away at their "spidey-sense". I remember being pregnant and having complete strangers touch my belly...

Hey everyone! So glad I finally joined!

Welcome! From one perfectionist to another! If nothing else, soaping has helped me let go of some of my ideals. You may have a specific idea in your head, but your soap has another one altogether, so you just roll with it. Congrats on your success and sticking with it!

Beautiful! I saw a similar mold, but I think the roses were only on the top. Yours is lovely! ETA: no, rose is all thought to bottom.

    Colored with food colors

Wow! Absolutely stunning! Your white is so bright! I'm having trouble with that one.do the FD&C colorants accelerate trace?

    Creed dupe from sweet cakes

So far, the scent is holding true to what it was OOB. It did hold trace back forever! I haven't had a FO do this yet.
