Hello! and questions on my recipe

May I ask for how long you feel it needs to cure, to get that desired lather? I'm looking to try my first 'high butter' soap :-) Also - pls correct me if I'm mistaken - but isn't the lye calculator already taking into account all the usaponifiables? I can't seem to grasp why the "low"...

    Salt scrubs and blood pressure

I'm wondering if the concern might be in regards to a high mineral content of the salt and that having an effect?? I once tried an epsom salt bath/soak (maybe 30 min. soaking) and it was wonderful and extremely relaxing, however it did feel as if my blood was racing through my body afterwards...

ED lye batches question: I was gifted lots of soaping supplies

What an amazing score! Congratulations Galaxy, lucky you :-) I'm absolutely ecstatic about the 14 kg. (!!!) of coconut oil I got for free yesterday, from a local grocery. You must be over the moon with joy <3 Happy soaping :-) :-)

Black Market Ladies of the Lard Cartel

I've heard of the pie crusts and always figured it was for savory pies, but then you say biscuits and that makes me think of crackers, like Digestive, and THEN had me thinking -- cookies?? I know biscuits in the US is a (DELICIOUS!!) bread-roll type thing, but do y'all use lard for sweet pie...

    Sandalwood powder

I used it in one of my first batches, I wanted to use it for colour and did an ITP swirl with it and perhaps didn't use enough or it morphs (turned a pale yellowish-grey tan) however, as I recall it had no scrubbies at all. I think maybe I still have an end bit..I'll check and return! :-)...

    Recipe feedback

I've never used palm but will chime in on the coconut; I don't have dry skin but my first 18-24% coconut dried out my hands (even with 8% SF) First I lowered to around 12-15% and it was better, I'm formulating now at around 8-9% tops and they seem better for my hands, even not being at full cure...

    Trouble with first batch

I now know my kitchen table is uneven, my scale will jump if it's not on a COMPLETLY flat, level surface. I now put it on a big glass plate when weighing. It's a cheap (BAD) one, but it is precise. (It's (BAD) cause it turns off automatically in 60 seconds, regardless it's still counting. DON'T...

    Trouble with first batch

I'm guessing the salt is for initial hardening of the soap - to get it out of the mold easier. I've never used it myself as I imagine it will cut just a teeny, tiny bit of lather and I want ALL the lather. I just wait a bit longer, one time almost 2 weeks! (It had a lot of extra glycerin.) I do...

Am I doing this right? Hi JuneP, I think you meant to post this somewhere else :-) And am I right in assuming that you now get some sort of alert of this message, because of the quotation?? Lavender-blackberry jam sounds DELICIOUS!! Hope your soap went well :-)

Thank you so much, to all of you! What a wonderful warm welcome :-D I really appreciate it, makes me very happy! Yes - the glazing over of the eyes..that came so fast and I just don't get it..? But then again, I'm the addicted one ;-) Maybe what I don't get is why they are not at all...

    Dehydrator?

That sounds sooo cheap! I would get it, but that may be because you just wouldn't ever find them at that price in Denmark. Be aware they can really run up your electricity bill, if it's now powerfull it needs to run a long time.. With that being said, you can use it for any and everything, that...
