Tallow/canola oil mixed shortening -Sunspun brand

Thanks. I am going by my revised soap calculator page, in assuming it will be a little drying. The hardness is 60, conditioning only 35. If my mixed shortening is about 95% tallow, then I used over 15 oz. tallow, .8 oz canola oil, 9 oz. coconut oil and 1.5 oz castor oil. Plus a little sweet...

Tallow/canola oil mixed shortening -Sunspun brand

I tried calling them, but they are just suppliers and not the producers, so the woman could not find any info either. DOS and metal cutters.

Thank you. Yes, they are stainless steel. I started to worry after seeing posts about DOS on soap set out to dry on metal racks. So, is it the chrome plating on racks that is the culprit?

    DOS and metal cutters.

Hi, I am new to CP soap making. On reading about metal contact causing DOS spots, I wonder about using metal cutters (which I have been using). Would using the metal cutters (I use straight and wavy ones) start the reaction that would cause DOS? Thank you for any advice or experience with this!
