Has anyone soaped a Ginger Scent

I have a bottle of Ginger Souffle that is not very popular in candles, so I was going to try and make CP soap. (its soap safe) Has anyone soaped a Ginger scent? Did you add any additives. Was thinking of adding something, to make it look more interesting. I bet it would be a pretty tan/yellow.

    Additives to MP soap

Well, I just looked at WSP and they dont carry the shave soap. Darn, I needed to place ANOTHER order with them. This will be 3 in 2weeks, you'd think I could get a grip and order all at once. Wonder if the neighbors think I'm having an affair with the UPS guy he's at my house so much!! :P...

    Additives to MP soap

Just thinking out loud here, shaving soap WOULD add some lather, even thou I have never made shaving soap (you make it right?). Would the soap also be creamy lather "type" ?

    Additives to MP soap

Has anyone added Cocoa Butter to their MP soap? Was wondering if that would "harden" the soap more, or add more moisture. Looking to add more moisture and suds, not necessarily hardness. The bars are quite hard as it is. I have added shea and castor to the MP, and it turns out pretty good...

    Bluewick Soy Candle Fragrances

Has anyone tried a BlueWick Soy Candle? I am desparately trying to find a Blackberry fragrance that is a duplicate to what this company makes. I have purchased a bunch of Blackberry scents, trying to match this FO, and I cannot seem to match this in any sort of way. I have searched the Web...

How to combine discount AND superfatting at trace

So....ummm did everyone read & understand the above post?? So...ummm is anyone gonna try and make their own recipe?? I think I'm going to re-read that about 9 times before that sinks thru to this ol' brain.  Yikes. Maybe once I get about 100 lbs of soap under my belt, the...

    Lye heavy. question

OMG!!! well isn't that good news!! I will read up on re-batching, or hand-milling as it is so called. Wonder, how do I superfat the handmilling? Can someone give me some pointers? Is this soap a bit lye dense? (is that a soap-er word)? Thank you again for your help & input.

    Lye heavy. question

OK...me again, I ran my recipe thru the calc. This is what I used. 10.5oz coconut 20.0oz olive oil 4.8oz lye 12.0 distilled water should have added 2 tbsp castor...but I forgot... 2oz china rain fo The calc says: I should have added: 4.4oz lye 11.59 water at the above ratio...

    Lye heavy. question

I know what allyour answers are going to be, but need to ask before I toss the batch. I was the one who made a 2lb rain scented soap, and forgot to add the castor oil at trace. The color turned out nice, quite white base with very light blue swirls - wanted darker, but oh well....(for a newbie...

    Gingerbread Soap

Sorry....when I added the fo, it turned a pukey yellow, then I added the paprika. It was a funky med/dark yellow, but after it gelled in the wooden mold, it turned a wonderful gingerbread flecky soap. It really turned a nice dark amber color. The peppercorn fo was an amber color, so its...

    Gingerbread Soap

Paprika works really well for that gingerbread look. I used 2 1/2 tbsp of Paprika for a 3 lb batch. I added at light trace, stirred with a whisk to incorporate, this took a few minutes, I didn't want clumps of the spice, then I used my stick blender, and good good trace, then poured it in a...

Where to find Palm Oil & PKO

The closest big City to me would be Jacksonville Florida. They do have an organic store called Native Sun. Close to where I used to live actually. But everything in there is quite expensive. I actually went in there looking for lye.....going to an organic health food store looking for poison...

    I'm bummed

Rebatching was the 1st thing I thought of after learning I missed a step. Have not done that before......need to get my soapmaking book out and go over the steps. Never thought that the soap might be too lye heavy. How do you soapmakers NOT miss stuff like this? Do you line up your bowls or...
