    Bamboo Silk??

Bamboo Silk I use bamboo silk in every bar of soap I make. I love the results. It does not take much - just a few small snips with your scissors - about what would cover your small fingernail. I recommend putting in the water and stirring for a minute before adding your lye; however, I use a...

I made my own website at squarespace.com. I love the clean crisp templates, the way it tracks inventory and does state taxes - everything about it. Technical support is amazing - which is a good thing because I am not a technie. Feel free to look at my site: www.sadiesmissionsoaps.com

Water TD vs Oil TD observation

TD - Specks? I have never had specks from my TD doing it the way you are doing it and with that exact product.

How much Titanium Dioxide to get soap white?

TD I regularly use 1 tsp PPO of TD in my HP soaps. I use oil soluble. I sift over the melted oils and wait 15 minutes. Then I stick blend well and then add my lye solution. I have never had chalky soap or glycerin rivers. I do my clays the same way. ----------------------------------...

Oily 100% coconut oil soap with vanilla oleoresin

Vanilla Oleoresin I frequently make 100% coconut oil soap with 20% SF (some go as high as 30% SF), and have never had this problem. I wonder if it may have something to do with the vanilla oleoresin. -------------------------------------- www.sadiesmissionsoaps.com

    more shampoo bar questions

Shampoo Bars I use kaolin clay in my shampoo bars but only at 1/2 tsp ppo. I also infuse some of my oils (avocado) and beer/water with marshmallow root and calendula overnight. The marshmallow root gives the soap some detangling properties.

    Tallow recipe?

Tallow My main recipe is 60% tallow which I use in all my soaps except my salt bars. I love it for its creamy rich lather, its whiteness. I buy it in 50 pound boxes from SC. I always use 5% castor in all my soaps. I usually use softer oils for the other 35%. I like RBO...

My first shaving soap is a success!

Adding clay The very best way to add clay, if you are using it, is to sift it over your melted oils. Wait 15 minutes, then stick blend. Then add your lye solution. It works perfect for me every time this way. --------------------------- www.sadiesmissionsoaps.com

My first sea salt CP recipe

Salt Bars Like the others, I recommend castor oil over the sunflower oil as it will help with lather. I always use FO @ maximum recommendation in my salt bars. My salt bars have amazing lather - I use SL at 2% and dry malt extract at 1 tsp ppo. ------------------------------------...

    Salt Bar Mold Question

BB Mold for Salt Bars Chefmom - I have that mold but it is way too nice and expensive to use on salt bars. I have read in other threads that it was almost impossible to remove the dividers. I use this one and it is perfect for salt bars. They also have it in square if you don't like...

My first shaving soap is a success!

My shaving soap has 60% tallow and has AMAZING lather. I add 1 tsp ppo of dry malt extract. I do not use steric acid but do use SL at 3% in my recipe.

    Babassu salt bars

80% babassu and 20% avocado ????? I think you are going to have difficulty getting a good lather without using at least 75% coconut oil. ------------------------------------ sadiesmissionsoaps.com

    Additive testing-interesting results

Additives There is really very little difference at all between the additives - and it was a test using one recipe and one process. Hot process or CPOP could have made difference, especially if additives were added after the cook. Also, different fats combined with additives could make a...

    Crumbly salt soap....argghhh :-)

Reusing Salt Bar Crumbles in Soap Obsidian, how do you actually use your salt crumbles in a fresh batch of soap? Do you just mix in as the salt portion in your regular salt bar recipe? _____________________€_____

    HP Advise needed!

"Glopping" not necessary I posted pictures and a video tonight of HP shampoo bars to Shout Out Hot Process & Cold Process Soap Makers. The purpose was to show how fluid the batter can be if you don't overcook. I could have easily poured my batter at the end of cook but just scooped it in the...

How/when do you cut salt bars

Cutting Salt Bars I find with salt bars that individual cavities in silicone molds work best. Also, one would think they get so hard you would not want to use Sodium Lactate but I find I have less problems with salt bars if I use 2% SL. ---------------------------- www.sadiesmissionsoaps.com
