Thanks all for the ideas! Last night's dinner was a success! Lots of leftovers for the weekend. I really appreciate the suggestions!

Best Mac and Cheese recipe you make?

Well, The deed is done and in the oven. Unlike soaping, I wing it on cooking. Made a bechamel sauce with bacon grease to cook the roux. Only milk, its all I had. Added some of my world famous home smoked cheese. And some other pre-shredded mega-mart cheese. A touch of nutmeg. A touch of...

Best Mac and Cheese recipe you make?

So, my girlfriend has had a tooth pulled and is very sore. She has requested mac and cheese. However, I think she deserves better than what comes out of a box, even if it's one that cost more than 27¢. What are your best mac and cheese recipes?

    Favorite masculine blends

One of my personal favorites is rosemary and mint. Also really like sage and pine needle.

    So Aggravated with Me

I have called around to a few places and can't find any local bulk supply stores that have lye. Probably time to start buying online...

    Eek! Christmas!

I am going to go against the flow here... My first 5-6 batches of soap turned out wonderfully. I still have some of the first shave soap I made as well. If you research as much as you have alluded to, and take reasonable care to follow well established process, I do t see why you couldn't make...

    So Aggravated with Me

Where do you get lye cheaply? I buy from Lowe's, which is way over priced.

Need a totally RANCID Fragrance Oil scent

Why not get some of those "fart bombs" which were ampules of H2S scented oil if I am not mistaken. Usually found at Spencer's or other novelty shops of low standing

    Starting Off

I have the pink 6 cavity molds. They work well.

    Loaf Cutter for M&P

I bought a decent (not spectacular, though) loaf cutter on Amazon. I came with a straight cutter, a wavy cutter, and a small silicone mold for $35 I think. So far, it works well enough. It also has a bevel knife on the bottom and a place to tie some monofilament if you like to cut with a string...

    Recipes with no liquid oils?

I do soap with 45% lard, 45% CO and 10% castor. Its a good soap that cleans well and isn't too harsh. Its not a luxury bar like castille is, but it is a good all around hand/bath soap. It is also white, so colors work well with it. Its versatile in that it does well with both hot and cold...

Need help scaling my cornbread recipe up

Ok. Engineer here and someone asked about volume ratios... 8" diameter skillet, and about 2" high judging from the pictures... (8/2)^2*π*2=100.53 in^3 (10/2)^2*π*2=157.08 in^3 157.08/100.53=1.5625 or 1 9/16. So, scaling by 1.5 is pretty close! I know you all wanted to see math tonight...

    First try at liquid soap

I posted the main oils previously, but I will try to piece the whole thing together: Recipe is: 50% coconut oil 45% lard 5% castor oil In soapcalc: -1% superfat (lye excess) 3:1 water to lye ratio. (My thought was a lot of water would make a more liquid paste and be easier to dilute. This...

    First try at liquid soap

I wasn't shooting for laundry soap. The comment was about the longevity of the foam created while soaking the crock pot liner. But, thanks for the useful tips. I did a 1% lye excess and neutralized with borax on this run. So I may try this next go around for liquid laundry soap. [emoji6]
