    stearic acid spots?

I'm also thinking stearic spots since they didn't smooth out.

    Beer Fragrance Oil

Sorry that wasn't me. :) My favorite FO for beer soaps is BB's Honey Ale. It doesn't smell great oob, but I think it smells pleasantly beer-ish without being overwhelming.

    stearic acid spots?

They could be spots or bubbles. If you rub them, do they smooth out?

Good apple or fruit FO from BB?

Oooo, try the Crisp Anjou Pear and blend with Champagne. It's really nice in soap and in other B&B. Also, see if they will give you a sample of Ginger Patchouli. It's my all time favorite (behaves perfectly and the patch isn't super noticeable... folks that HATE patch still love it - only when...

    Long cures and Fragrance

Ditto to what was said about just needing to test to see what stick and fades. Some of my anecdotal tips: Oven processing makes things fade faster for me. White Kaolin has made a very minor difference. But it isn't going to make a fader really come back. I only bother with it when I suspect...

    Some Hats I Make

I love your hats - especially the gray and teal ones! I'm hoping things get better for your family. I know how stressful it can be living with those kinds of unknowns.

That's a really good idea for testing out new micas!

What size Loaf mold works best

I completely agree... it's all a matter of preference. I'm rubbish at not ripping a tear into a freshly lined mold (grrr), so I pretty much exclusively use molds with silicone liners. For sizes, I like 2 to 2.5 pound batches since I'm just a hobbyist. What I've got: BB small loaf mold: the...

What are your favorite FO's to use?

Some of my favorites... I think I have problem Bramble Berry Ginger Patchouli (my top pick! I'm on my fourth reorder which is crazy for me) Rich Dark Chocolate Cold Water AHRE Sparkling Snowflake Mad Oils (Before they stopped selling FOs altogether. I haven't tried out the other...

Tiny bumps on cut soap face

I get those bumps too sometimes... To minimize them, try running the bar over a hard surface right after cutting. My theory on it is that they are really teeny air bubbles. I seem to get them worse when I've been sloppy about introducing air into my batter.

A rambling review of Brambleberry "masculine scents" sampler

I think my sniffer is pretty close to yours though my guinea pig (er, husband) likes heavily scented soaps. So your review is very helpful for me to judge the few I've tried from BB with the ones I haven't. Thanks for that! Our opinions on the ones we've tried from your list... Cold Water -...

There MUST be a better way to clean up after CP making ??

I'm going to try this. Thanks for the tip!

There MUST be a better way to clean up after CP making ??

I'm in the lazy, er efficient crowd. I wipe out what I can, chunk dirty dishes in a big orange multi-gallon container from Home Depot, put a lid on it, and forget about it for a few days. Then I tetris-stack the dishes in my sink, squirt with a little dawn, spray with really hot water, and walk...
