    Very Sad Today :-( Rant

I'm so glad she managed to get her teeth fixed. Feeling self conscious about yourself can have such a huge impact on happiness.

    Tapioca starch

I use it to bind my fragrance - I use natrasorb which is modified to hold oils so I mix the fragrance other it before adding to my soap. It made a significant impact on how long my fragrance held in the bars.

    Bubble Bars

Thanks deanna, that explains why no one has it in their recipes. I won't bother, it will save me wasting expensive ingredients. I'll send some up to her and see what she thinks.

    Powdered water soluble colourants

It's not so bad when it's all dissolved in the bath water, more of the red seems to come through

    Bubble Bars

Basically, I am making bubble bars for myself using surfactants that don't irritate my ridiculously sensitive skin. They bubble really nicely in my soft water, but I wanted to send some up to my mom who also has similar problems. Her water is really really hard (so much so that when I moved down...

    Powdered water soluble colourants

These are the ugly they are coloured with red 40 and blue 1 - I also have some basic fuchsine which is supposed to be violet (but I'm not sure what pH it goes Violet as it looks green to me. I added some of that too when it wasn't looking very purple.

    Powdered water soluble colourants

I had a go today making some bars, I tried to mix a lavender shade to go with my lavender essential oil scent, they turned out battleship grey LOL - I will post a picture of the disaster later

    Bubble Bars

Most of the recipes found online don't include chelators in the recipe. I'm wondering if mine would benefit from the addition of some EDTA or sodium citrate? It's a bit grainy so may make the texture of the bars a little gritty, but I might give it a try. Has anyone else tried this, was it...

    Vivid bath bomb help

I have just bought some powdered water soluble dyes too for this reason. A fellow soaper sent me some that she had made and I was really impressed by the colour they turn the water.

    Using Butter in soap

I tried clotted cream soap forgetting about the butyric acid. It was unbearable, probably the only disaster bars that I have just thrown out without trying to rebatch or fix.

    I miss soap blogs!

Tiggy from future primitive hangs out in some of the Facebook groups I am in. She's lovely, I would have love to read her blog as I imagine she would have had a lot of insightful information to share. I like the curious soapmaker, but she seems to have also disappeared :(

    Ugliest Soaps

Definitely not intentional LOL. I had visions of these lovely purple sugar plum fairy scented salt bars but the yellow fragrance made them corned beef pink. I was so disappointed, but they smelled nice!

    UK source of Na4-EDTA?

Have you managed to find any Daniel? If not I will buy you some from mistral next time I place an order. I use sodium citrate in my own bars as it has better label appeal.
