    Washing soap materials question?

I’m a bleach before and after girl, just in case. I add a few drops of dish soap and let sit for 10 minutes for disinfection then place on paper towels to either air-dry or I wipe with paper towels.

    Mica Storage

I only colour as needed when making MP and never premix colourants. WSP has secure containers and the colors stay fresh in those until needed. Plus, I love ‘inventing ‘ a colour to match each particular project so I can’t premix. Happy creating!!

Oh, sorry, and I used freshly ground, not used, coffee.

MP soap - Coffee grounds changed color

Good to know! I use their bases but I used the 3 butters base with ground coffee just added to the first pour so it wasn’t mixed throughout. Mine stayed true to color.

    Pain relief/arthritis cream copy

Deanna- try some frankincense in your no-see-um cream! I am trying to replicate Sallye Ander’s No Bite Me and I have heard frankincense is great in repellants. Plus, it’s very soothing for bites and rashes. I just love the stuff and can even use it on my dogs. PS. Love your stories!

Castor supposedly is beneficial for dry, irritated skin, too. I always add it to my butters.

    Buying MP base

So do I! Just watch where you live because you may need to buy a low-sweat version. I’m in cold Wisconsin so I don’t worry too much about that-grin.

Any tips for Melting Hard Oils Without Microwave

I never use a microwave because oils can explode or start on fire. Use a double boiler for safety and to control your temperature better. Good luck!

Crumbly Salt Bar… What went wrong

I have wanted to make a good M&P salt bar from the moment I started soaping and I finally got one! I used clear MP base from WSP with Blood Orange FO, dendritic salt, honey powder and 1ml rice bran oil. I found a blog somewhere that said to pour in layers, let set a bit then sprinkle the salt...

    Body butters

Hi Sherman, I am a new member and a new-one year-soaper. I’m taking a leap here and guessing your question is about body butters and not lotions so correct me if I am wrong. First, with a pure body butter (no water) you need to research your butter hardnesses. Try Wholesale Supplies Plus...

    New member

Hi everyone and happy holidays! I started soaping after I got Covid in 2020. I do M&P, body butters, reed diffusers, hand soap, room spray, perfume, and bath cream. It’s been a blast researching how-to’s and reading your threads. I am from northern Wisconsin, a nurse, and a CNA instructor...

Playing Around With Melt & Pour Salt Bars

I know I am commenting on an old thread but thank you for this because I couldn’t figure out why my salt bars are always sweating. I really have worked on them but hadn’t tried the baking soda!

I’m glad! I search for wisdom from these threads! Plus, today I made the most perfect body butter and it’s because I read the thread😊
