What soapy thing have you done today?

Yes, I added them after the oils and lye reached trace. At the same time I'd usually add my essential oils but I decided my first vegan soap would have no essential oils (some eczema sufferers can't do certain e/os). Super fat was 6 but I went over the oil additives by 4 grams for a full sized...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Made my first vegan, palm free soap 2 weeks ago. Tried a sliver today and I was surprised at how nice it was! I have really sensitive skin and usually stick with the goat milk but had some customers ask me about making a vegan soap, so I switched up my recipe. I subbed a homemade oat milk for...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Yeah, I've made that mistake before! These days, I just pour water into the new molds to figure it out and write down the amount in my notebook. My most recent mistake had me looking at the total oils in soap recipe for fill amount rather than the whole total (oil, water, lye) and I was left...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Most of my bars are cut with the soap equipment 1 1/4" soap cutter. They're bigger than normal but I figure ppl can cut them in half if they want a smaller soap. It's also a nice hold for me to rub on a washcloth.

Sometimes you just have to throw it out and start over! It's like getting a parking ticket. I have to pay them off as soon as possible and then forget about them or I get really mad (they're never my fault of course!).

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

Yes, it's so much more acceptable for men to go bald but thankfully there are some brave women out there, paving the way for the rest of us if it happens!! Minoxidil has been pretty amazing tho, phew! Oh my, I didn't know you broke your ankles! I broke two toes at Christmas (and sprained two...

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

Right about the Kokum! It is good stuff and they have the box at a really good price so I go with it! If you'd like me to send you any of my mini samples to try to see if you like that texture/style, just dm me. You might hate it and then you'll save yourself the time of wanting to make similar...

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

Hi Aliop, The Kokum Butter I buy from Jedwards has citric acid in it https://bulknaturaloils.com/kokum-butter-b3042.html ,so I list it also. The extracts are oil soluble https://www.edenbotanicals.com/chamomile-blue-co2-organic.html , https://www.edenbotanicals.com/calendula-co2.html and the...

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

Thanks for the input, Chelsea. I'd love to read that discussion if there's a way for you to post a link? Most of the studies I've read about Bakuchiol and Retinol have been on the National Center of Biotechnology Information and a few other websites and I've been happy with what I've read about...

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

I made the 'zero' line for ppl who don't want to do any essential oils. So that line has no smells except for the oils and plant extracts (I use chamomile c02 and calendula c02 [eden botanicals] in all of that line (soap face, skin, hydrosol, bath, lip) and no colors except for the seabuckthorn...

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

The funny thing was.. I was freaking out when I went to see a dermatologist. I had five quarter sized patches around my head and was thinking I might get more. When I saw my dermatologist for the first time, I see that she is completely bald (and had been since she was a child) and I thought...

    Name this soap

It's stunning! It reminds me of green agate. It's a stone that has a lot of powerful meanings behind it (you could pick the ones you want to assoc with it), so it could work well for a mens soap and you could even do other stones later in the same way for a whole collection, quartz, tourmaline...

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

I had thinning hair also but just accepted it as part of aging. Then last year, I got a bunch of alopecia and went to see a dermatologist. Steroid injections and costco's ($17.99 for a 6mts supply that lasts me a year) minoxidil helped the patches grow back in and it had the added benefit of...

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

My skin is crazy sensitive (from eczema) and I only use my goat milk superfatted soaps for cleansing. They clean without stripping the skin. I don't give out my recipe b/c sell it but you're welcome to look at the ingredients I use in my soaps (the rose one is my favorite) and water-free face...

    Soap cutter reviews?

I use these for cutting soaps. Pretty much takes care of everything I can think of to cut! And I hope they last many, many years. I started out with a box cutter and I was so bad at it, it made sense to shell out a ton of money buying a fancy cutter (that's what I told myself anyway!!😉) Bought...

    Lip Ivo?

To me, Cupuacu has a slighty sharper tang to it, than Cocoa butter. On it's own, the smell is too much for me. I usually use it around 10% in my lip balms and I don't smell it in the final mix. It is definitely more moisturizing/creamy than Mango. I use both of them in my skin cream but omit the...

    Lip Ivo?

To each their own, I suppose. So many ingredients in there that I wouldn't touch! Drying, irritating for lips, assoc w/ cancer.. I have no idea what it smells like but is it sweet vanilla mint with a touch of floral/balsamic? I'd use spearmint e/o as it's gentler on the lips than peppermint and...

    My Daughter is really Sick

First time popping on to the forum for a while. My mom had a stroke earlier in the year and passed last month. I can't even imaging what you're going through. Your daughter is one very brave fighter to have been dealing with this for so long. Sending positive thoughts to you all that this time...
