    Liquid Soap Separating

also, when you add salt to a CP soap with water mixture, you're "salting out" glycerine in the soap. this could be what you've inadvertently done. it makes the soap separate out from the water.... I've never done this, but read a few times on how to salt out glycerine. you can then cook off the...

How can I make my soap harder, so it won't melt so easy?

ok, another angle - do you have a good soap dish? or does your soap sit in a puddle of water? it maybe a silly question, but i've actually had people ask me why my soaps melt so fast, and didn't realize that if you leave your soap in water it would melt.

    Question About Pomace Olive Oil

to me, it stands to reason that each brand of pomace would be different from another. and...the stuff they sell in the Caribbean is really the worst quality of everything (what doesn't get passed in the EU and/or north America gets sent to 3rd world countries), so that could be the reason.

    Question About Pomace Olive Oil

i was living in the Caribbean then so it was probably something that was of terrible quality. I have yet to try pomace after moving back to north America mainland, but I'm a little hesitant after my other experience...

    Question About Pomace Olive Oil

I soap cool as well. When I tried pomace, it definitely traced faster than when I used regular OO. It never seized for me though. I did 2 batches of the same soap, one with OO and one with pomace. The pomace one moved so fast compared to the other I almost wasn't able to complete the design.

Do certain shapes & sizes sell better or feel betterthan others?

my testers really like the size of my bars (as do I). they're big enough to feel chunky, and thin enough to swirl around in an average hand. they're 3.25"x2.25"x1.25" (apparently I like .25" lol). freshly cut, my bars are around 5oz, cured to just over 4.5oz ETA - I don't like bars too big. I...

    Question About Pomace Olive Oil

yes, pomace works, but I personally don't like it in CP soap. it does make the batter trace faster, which isn't great for swirls.....

Not bad outcome after 3 month hiatus

CaraBou, yep! I'm kind of a polar bear, so the year round Caribbean heat was too much for me to handle (among other issues). the base colour is French red clay, white is TD and black is activated charcoal. even though I put a lot of clay for the base, it doesn't discolour the bubbles. I...

I was that annoying soaper at the stand!

it was an indoor show. I'm kind of OCD though..... I like a really well organized booth with well thought out packaging. doesn't have to be expensive, but it makes the seller seem like they put a lot of thought into their product. not saying this particular vendor didn't, it just didn't LOOK...
