Love this! I would have guessed hanger swirl too. It looks like it was really thin to get those thin lines, was it a tiger swirl?

    Lots of newbie questions!

Hi Fernanda, welcome! I'll try to answer your questions in the order you asked them: 1. Yes, you can re-melt your fragranced and colored MP, just make sure to gently remelt and not overheat so much that you burn off your fragrance. 2. Any oil will work for superfatting, but do not go over 1...

An interesting blog post about making your own mp base. Only glycerin is needed.

Thanks so much for sharing my blog post! Zacil, who shared her MP recipe with me, said that she does notice it sweats, but not as much as store-bought MP. tea water

I agree with Rachel...I don't see why not, this is similar to what some people do when they make milk soaps. Just make sure you have enough water to safely dissolve the lye :)

My recipe traces to fast!! Help with swirling!

Soaping cooler definitely helps slow down trace for me. I notice when I have used frozen liquid for the lye solution, that I have plenty of swirling time with those soaps. Like lsg mentioned above, just taking your soap to a super-thin trace (just past emulsified) and then splitting it into...

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

I had my husband test this shampoo bar today and he LOVED it. He has used bar soap on occasion to wash his hair, but he said this was more like a shampoo than any other bar of soap he’s ever used. I think that is a great compliment to Genny….well done on the recipe, and thank you again for...

goatsmilk soap with rose clay-partial gel?

I thought I read somewhere that clays hold heat as well, so soaps with clay are more prone to gelling?

    Help with a fragrance oil

It definitely sounds like a very woodsy scent. I would try adding a citrus fragrance and peppermint e.o. or f.o. You could also try adding an apple/cinnamon fragrance or a vanilla-based fragrance. I actually think there are a lot of things you could blend it with, you'll just have to experiment...
