Thank you! My son wants to work on a signature swirl, so let’s see 😂 Thank you so much… we need to work on reducing those pesky little bubbles while blending!

    Confidence Booster

I’ve been having a somewhat bad run with my soaps and after a nightmare with pomace, I felt really down. My son said we needed to make a nice one to boost our morale, so we trotted out our equipment and materials and got to making an oldie but goodie – a 100% coconut oil soap :) This has to be...

So sorry to hear this… that sounds scary. So glad you are OK. ❤️ Please take things easy and rest. You deserve to be pampered for a while ❤️

    What went wrong? 😔

Oh the perils of pomace!! 😂 I now wish I’d used the loaf mould instead of trying to pack that mess into smaller moulds. I think you might be right about the EOs as well – a soapmaker here told me that it is not easy to get pure oils … there aren’t any certified companies and some sellers...

    What went wrong? 😔

Ah... I have much to learn! I must manage my expectations. Thank you so much for your kind words :)

    Eco-Soap Forays

Thanks so much! Yes... this used cooking oil business definitely isn't straightforward! One recipe online said something along the lines of: Unmould after a day. Use immediately – there is no need to cure because you are just using it for general cleaning. 😬 😱 I'll definitely continue looking...

    What went wrong? 😔

Oh right! It was about 23g of EO ... patchouli, geranium and lavender.

    Eco-Soap Forays

I totally get this... this is just what my MIL said LOL. She told me and my son – "PURE! USE ONLY PURE THINGS!" 🤣 I should explain why my son and I made these soaps. It started out as a part of his Chemistry of Clean exhibit for our homeschool co-op's Science Fest. He made a display talking...

    What went wrong? 😔

That's just what happened :( The trace was just unmanageable... I almost feel like going back to whisking by hand now!

    What went wrong? 😔

Oh... that is so kind of you... I picked the piece that looked least disastrous LOL! I really need to get more training and practice under my belt. I had made this soap before but handstirred/whisked it... the recipe wasn't tweaked via soapcalc either. This time I got the recipe 'vetted' and I...

    What went wrong? 😔

Hi everyone! I made a CP soap of olive oil, castor oil and coconut oil … I’d run the recipe through soap calc and it looked like all was good to go. 1. The mix went to a thick trace awfully quickly so it was madness getting the stuff into the moulds… Is it because the lye and oils were too...

    Eco-Soap Forays

Hi y'all! My son and I started out soap making when he had to put up an exhibit for his science fair in March. (We are sooo addicted now LOL!) One of the things he displayed was an eco-soap (pictured below) – made out of used cooking (sunflower) oil. It was coloured with blue mica and scented...
