    My First Attempt

I so relate to your little mishaps. When we made our first soap, we didn't have a stick blender... I actually whisked and whisked like my life depended upon it LOL. The trace was not too thick, but the soap turned out not too bad. Then, we were gifted a good blender and oh, we weren't prepared...

What soapy thing have you done today?

We made soap out of used cooking oil (sunflower, cleaned!). It is our second attempt... in our first attempt, we used blue mica and the soap bars came out swirly. We used only a little of the blue this time and our soaps turned out a pretty light sage colour. We've only used the soaps for...

    A very newbie recipe question

I am soooo fascinated with tallow. I made friends with a soapmaker here and she rendered her own beef tallow. She said the smell did permeate the house for a bit, haha, but it was totally worth it. Thank you so much for these tips. I am learning a lot ❤️

Butters are a little harder to come by – they are either extremely expensive or possibly not of good quality/the real thing? (Found an online store selling cocoa butter and shea butter but reviews were...

    A very newbie recipe question

Thank you so much... I am writing all this down :) I'll tweak some more :) I am trying to find palm oil here... really dying to get my hands on butters, but there have been import restrictions so foreign goods are hard to come by.

    A very newbie recipe question

Hi everyone! My 11-year-old son and I are into soap making ... we have such a long way to go, but are having a lot of fun. We've been keeping things simple – we've made coconut oil soaps and used cooking oil soaps. A couple of months ago, we made this soap (recipe we found online): Olive oil...

    Hello, everyone!

Hi there! I'm Shirin and I'm a Singaporean based in Pakistan. I'm here on behalf of me and my 11-year-old son :) We both got into soap making when he had to take part in the local homeschooling community's Science Fest. He wanted to do something new ... after much brainstorming, he got very...
