    The pot is a stainless steel. I believe the spoon is too. The only reason I use that spoon as my silicon spoon would have broken due to the paste being rock hard. But definitely something to consider. thank you

    Thanks, I ended up just tossing it. Thanks for the confirmation I have always dissolved lye with water as I am not keen on the heating of the glycerin method. And I will make sure to have the water at least equal. Thanks.

    Thanks for that I will try the next time not halving the water instead just adding the same weight of glycerin for lye and just adding the full 160g of water.
