i'm the same way ....... i use stuff up making soap for myself , they still come out ok.

it all depends on when you open it and how its stored ,It should be used up within 2 months, once opened. Otherwise, it will last 18 months if kept sealed and stored under proper conditions.

i tried out this technique earlier this year to handle a big pile of scraps i had . loved the end results , both the lather and the speckle look of the soap , safe to say i plan to make it a regular "go to" a couple times a year to keep the scraps under control .
