    My other Crafts

Fantastic! Love the tree, have you thought about making them with skinnier stems for an earring tree? Maybe just me, but I'm always on the lookout for earring trees.

    Really?

My two most important sources of consumer and environmental guilt: packaging and sparkling mineral water Gerolsteiner Sprudel. Sadly, our single-stream trash/recycling company does not take cardboard even if taken apart and flattened. I'm now composting the wheat/rice noodles (a little difficult...

    Show your January 2016 Soaps!

I love my stamp, it was made by a wonderfully creative woman who was on this forum and allowed me to be a 'tester' for her new stamps :)

    Making own essential oils

Yeah, a little concerned that oilcrafter has a stake in the apparatus, only has three posts and hasn't chimed in again... I'll keep an eye out for independent reviews, mine likely won't ship until at least April and they offer full refunds before shipping, so that helps with my confidence level.

    Making own essential oils

Well, I've -- gasp -- pre-ordered one, never bought anything that expensive for soaping but there's always a first... Come summer I'll have access to acres of juniper and desert sage and plan to grow a LOT of lavender and clary sage.

Where or Where did Palm Kernal Oil Go?

Soap-Making-Resource also has it. http://www.soap-making-resource.com/soap-making-oils.html I hate bags in a box, and SMR packages theirs in nice tubs. More expensive than Soapers Choice, but totally worth it to me.

    Show your January 2016 Soaps!

I don't make many FO soaps but had fun with a few last week. Simple in-the-pot swirls, individual molds from BB. Soleseife, weighing over 5 oz. each. Clockwise: My favorite EO blend of dalmation sage, lime, cedarwood and patchouli, Cornflower Blue Flare mica from Nurture. Apple Orchard from NG...

    Making own essential oils

Thanks DeeAnna! If I buy one I'll order Everclear online.

    Indigo

From personal experience I can add to the natural greens that fade/morph to yucky green/brownish -- chlorella. My preference for natural green is green clay. It is subtle and on the gray side, but a lovely color nonetheless.

    Making own essential oils

Interesting, exciting, and looks like ton of fun -- leave it to the MM innovators in Colorado to come up with this. $400 looks like a good investment, I may have to order me one of these, they're taking pre-orders now. Nice article about them here...

DOS + Goat milk soap questions

I still have some goat milk bars 3-4 years old that are great, no DOS. I used OO, CO, palm, PKO, avocado and castor. Sodium lactate, 50/50 split method goat milk/distilled water, adding powdered goat milk as well. Way before I developed better recipes, and years before I discovered the wonders...

    Anyone sew?

These are all great! We grew up poor and if we wanted clothes that weren't hand-me-downs we sewed them. When I could afford to buy clothes I stopped sewing, for 30 years. Our little doggies get cold, though, and I had a bunch of fleece pants and sweaters I didn't wear. So bought myself a...

Licorice root and black lava salt cp soap

When I make soap with that low quantity of salt I add it to my lye mix, which makes it a brine soap in which the salt is completely dissolved, no scratchiness. I adore these. For a batch using 40 oz of oils I add 3.7 oz salt to my lye mix (usually equal parts distilled water and coconut milk)...

    Hot Process Salt Bars

No matter the season it gets dreary and humid here in Virginia. Some of my salt bars sweat during cure, I just let them do their thing and gently wipe them down and let thoroughly dry before packaging. I package in clear, thin, perforated cello bags and store them in bins filled with cheap white...

    What does Nurturesoap mean by....

I'm loving the Flare line, though it took me a few more tries to get the usage rate right. About to order more of them and a few of the Vibrance colors.

    Bar vs Loaf in CP

I'm now using silicone molds for all my soap. I make mostly swirl-in-the-pot soleseife and salt bars and CPOP the brine soaps. They pop out just fine in a couple of days (though it took me several tries to get the hang of unmolding from my favorite, rectangular molds from Brambleberry).

    Soapmaking supplies from eBay satisfactory?

Unlike some others here I really like Green Health EOs from WF-med. Haven't tried any of the mints, but have been very happy with everything I've ordered from them. Maybe I've just been lucky with my choices...

    Issues Nurture micas?

I think I just got unlucky with these too, as I've used Nurture for years and always had good results. These were all from a recent order. And the TKB green I used was very old, maybe five years old, they phased out the line several years ago. The purple I had used up was a mix of several...

Looking for fragrance suggestions for beer soap

Assuming these are essential oils? Great choices, for starters!

    Issues Nurture micas?

Green Vibrance (I usually use TKB Apple Green Pop), Persian Rose Flare for pink (I usually use BB's Electric Bubblegum or other) and lastly, Cyber Grape (instead of several suppliers' shades of purple). Got the color I wanted with the last one, but I never want to use 1.5 tablespoons of colorant...
