    Body powder too grainy

That might have been the reason, haha. I'll have to ask him again. But that sounds vaguely familiar so maybe what he said was a ghetto way to cover that up. Ugh, how rude! That reminds me of an instance I had at an Earth Day festival with my service dog. I think part of it was because we were...

    Eczema soap

Pine tar really is not a good idea for thrush. The problem is how moisture makes thrush worse as its the prime environment for the yeast to grow and multiply. So sealing in moisture around the frog with pine tar will actually make things worse. Horses in wet environments where the frog is not...

    Body powder too grainy

With making your own powdered sugar you might get some clumps, its best to make small amounts at a time so they don't end up ruined by the time you go to use it. Or you can add things to help with clumping, I can't remember what off the top of my mind. I think a little bit of cornstarch is whats...

You know you're a crazy soap person when...

You would not believe the amount of soaps I've heaped on my roommates LOL. Luckily they use handmade soap frequently anyway, one in particular so I've given her at least one bar of every soap I've made so far. She usually buys (or her husband buys for her) homemade soap from the farmers market...

    Eczema soap

pine tar is not used on horses hooves for infection. They're used for moisture based problems in the hoof. Horses hooves can develop cracks and other problems for both dryness and too much moisture. Pine tar can be used for either problem, it can hold in the moisture in the hoof in dry areas or...

    Body powder too grainy

I'd try a base of arrowroot and tapioca starch alone, or even arrowroot alone and see how he likes it. Then you can add in more things if needed. I add colloidal oatmeal and zinc oxide as skin soothing ingredients and to help with itching. Zinc oxide is also called calamine (with iron oxide...

    Body powder too grainy

I'd say the baking soda, I'd remove that or decrease it by a LOT. I think the problem is the texture of baking soda. Is there a reason you're wanting to include baking soda? I make body powders with arrowroot (I prefer it over cornstarch), tapioca starch, colloidal oatmeal, and zinc oxide...

    Wish us luck....

Ugh I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm on Medicaid, and I'm stuck in this vicious circle. There's no way I can pay for my medical costs without insurance, and if I made too much money I'd lose my Medicaid. So how the eff am I supposed to get back to being self sufficient and get a...

    Wish us luck....

Sometimes just mentioning that you're considering a lawyer or that you've consulted a lawyer can get things moving and fixed. I've had to do that a couple times. And yes if things hadn't finally been fixed I would have been going the lawyer route, because it was my health coverage which is...

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

If you read the entire thread (again if you already have) a lot of people substituted the Soybean oil with a couple different thinks like Sunflower or Avocado.

Shaving Soaps for use without specialized equipment?

The brush really helps the shaving process, its not just about building lather but it also lifts up the hairs so they aren't laying flat against the skin for a better and closer shave.

Someone is sick of me soaping

Hahaha, she sits on your shoulder like my cat ziva. I'm always calling her a parrot. I'm lucky she's a very small cat, when she was a kitten I was worried about her doing it as an adult.

What does he think you're doing with your Soap to accuse you of a fetish ?!

    So confused!!!

I've never used a thermometer while making soap. For the zap test I lick my finger first, rub it on the soap, and then I do a quick "tap tap tap" on the very tip of my tongue. If I feel a zap, this way its incredibly minor and I don't even need to rinse my mouth out after or anything. If I...

    Straining infused oils

Thats what I do, panty hose and squeezing. I hate using cheese cloth personally. I'm really wanting to get a french press to make things easier.

My first shaving soap is a success!

Ditto to the above comments. What about the soda ash makes you want to rebatch? If its appearance you'll end up worse after rebatching.

Brambleberry Soap mold (36 bar). Getting tired of these dividers... New options?

What about one of those large slabs that you cut down into loaves first, and then the loaves down into individual bars?
