    Mattress

Hello everyone, I haven't been active on the forum for a while due to health issues. I've been dealing with three advanced injuries in my back and a few in my neck. For a long time, I have been searching for a very firm mattress and have purchased nearly ten mattresses so far, but none of them...

@John Harris systematically uses FOs of 20+ years vintage and has zero issues with them (or conceals them from us). Interesting! I'd love to know where does he buy his FO from, must be a great resource, mine faded after almost one year. OK, I'll try @AliOop's cleaning method in small amounts...

I looked up cleaning rancid oils, it feels easier just through them away. I don't sell soap, it's all for personal and family use, I learned how to make soap as a hobby many years back, practiced some then busy life came in the way. This is why I have all expired supplies. I hope someone has...

I have a few jars of old tallow, some of them are sealed and some have a smell, does it go when used for making soap? Also, I found a jar of liquid oil in a good shape but I can't recall what was it, is there any way I can figure out how to use it in soapmaking? Obviously, I put it with tallow...

This way maybe the tallow and other oils will reduce the coconut effect on the skin? I heard something like that about tallow, didn't try it myself. You mentioned castor oil as a bubble booster, I am out of it and trying to use up my expired oils I believe they are still in a good condition if...

I am out of lard, how about using up the expired tallow I have instead? It looks ok to me.

According to the label, the poly-unsaturated fatty acids are 6g, how do I calculate that? Even though I like the other method you mentioned but I am assuming the amount of coconut oil may be more than what my skin can handle, so to solve that I am thinking to apply what you told me above first...

I have a bottle of oil I don't use for cooking, which has corn and canola oils, I don't want to throw it in the trash so I decided to use it for personal soapmaking but I can't figure out the % of each oil to plug it in soap calc. Would someone help me? Thank you.

I have several failing batches around, I'll be definitely using FCO to rebatch. Your reply makes it very clear to me. Thank you for sharing!

I believe what you are saying is right, even though they are old and expired but have no smell. Thank you for the reply. Thank you for the info!

You are right, I looked them up, I think I'll use the fractionated in the recipe with one of the other 2. Thank you.

Hey everyone, I have some expired coconut oils that I forgot about, I have 76, 92, and fractionated. Can I sub the last two with 76 for personal soapmaking? Thanks.
