Am I crazy to think this could be a soap mold?

OK, so we all know that soapmakers see molds wherever we look, but this may be pushing it a little. I have a Cricut cutting machine. It's a newer one. I bought a cartridge for it on Etsy, an older cartridge from when they had a little keyboard on them. The cartridge came with a silicone overlay...

I agree with Carolyn, WSP has the BEST nag champa!

How were this years shows for everyone?

I stopped doing shows over a year ago. It had gotten to the point that the disappointing ones outnumbered the ones where I sold a lot, and you know all of the time and effort it takes, and if you're not selling enough to make it worth it...well, it gets pretty hard to drum up much enthusiasm...

    "tis the season for me....

Gee that video would work for soapmaking too! How hard can it be? I can make a ton of money! I'm not a professional, so I'll just wing it! Once I sell them, they're not my problem any more, right? Right? Too funny...she's adorable. Every once in a while, I'll think to myself that I should save...

    Asking friends/family for opinions

Everyone's skin is different, so their preferences will differ. Aim for a good, balanced recipe. What was an eye opener for me, was a blind test that I did with friends and co workers. I came up with five different recipes, made up small samples of each, and a questionnaire, and handed them out...

What do people prefer at craft fairs?

I'd have to agree with Carolyn about Christmas scents, although I did sell some of those, my biggest sellers were always OMH, lavender and Energy. I don't know if it will help you any, but here's an interesting study that says people buy more when they're offered fewer choices...

Smallest batch of CP you've made?

I'm not sure about using a milk frother. I think that would end up whipping a lot of air into your soap.

Love the wisps of white in the cream. I'm a "less is more" kinda gal, so this is right up my alley.

    Wrapping for Christmas Presents

I think this is a nice idea. It could be adapted to any holiday. If you're not crazy about this one, there are a lot of other suggestions on the right side of the page. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=yLV_rVo5Gnk

    Soap mesh bags

Taking into account materials, (mesh, cord, thread, stopper) and your time, I doubt that you could make them any cheaper than can be found on line, or maybe at the dollar store. Here are some I found for $1.50. And I only looked for a minute or two. You might be able to find them even cheaper...

    Home made donuts

You have no idea how badly I'm drooling right now! I swear I can smell them. It might be sense memory from my childhood. My aunt Mary used to own a diner in Maine, where everything, down to the bread and the donuts were made from scratch. And when she would come to visit, in addition to knitting...

Why does my soap look like this?

Really? Gee, being able to unmold and cut the following day, is the main reason I gel my soaps. Before I understood the difference between gelling and not gelling, and how soaps that haven't gelled take longer to finish saponifying, I had a batch that looked like those pictured in this thread...

Why does my soap look like this?

I'm guessing that your soap didn't gel. If it gels, it's hard enough to unmold and cut the next day. If it doesn't, it can take several days before it's ready. If it zaps, it's still going through the saponification process, and needs to sit longer to finish and harden enough to unmold without...

Sometimes it's just not meant to be!

Well, you definitely made lemonade out of lemons. Good for you! Sometimes our best laid plans just go down the drain, due to no fault of our own, and all you can do is roll with it. You rolled like a pro. Glad you are feeling better. :)

    Yin Yang soap help

Oh, I feel your pain. I've watched videos like this one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l17vlhVq8PE, and been in awe of her perfectly pristine yin yang soaps. She makes it look so easy. Piece of cake, I thought to myself. Here are the best of my sad examples. I couldn't even get the black...
