    Hot Process superfat question

According to soap making friend, the calc is set to 5 for sf, I add the entire 10 percent shea as usual, but add an extra 5 percent 25g after cook. Bringing my total batch to 525g. They lye amount is also alot higher than soap calc.

    Hot Process superfat question

I make cold process soap all the time. So I'm very familiar with the process. I would like to start hot process. My question is do I set the SF to 0 in soap calc, and then add my desired percent after cook? My recipe includes 10 percent Shea butter, so would I only add half to main oils and the...

    Solid lotion bar ratio

Okay so its 1130 here in Florida. I'm definitely one of those who can sleep 4 hours and be good lol Soooo I'm making test bars. I did the 33% of wax, butter and oil. It seemed too waxy for me. So I split the 33% wax portion in half, and did cocoa butter making it 33 percent total. Definitely...

What does adding sea salt to soap do?

To me it doesn't feel like that. Its just a nice lather and leaves me clean without feeling dry. Everybody's skin is different. I would do a small batch and see how you like it. I've never gotten back any negative feedback when I gift or sell these bars.

    Solid lotion bar ratio

Mango butter is so nice! I have 5 lbs of it currently. I just made a nice whipped butter for myself with it.

What does adding sea salt to soap do?

I dont really have a set recipe. Its just 100 percent CO, superfatted at 20 percent and lye is usually done at 33 percent so I have more time to work with. Some recipes I do 40 percent lye. Sea salt is added at light trace with my fragrance. I use very well behaved fragrance oils, so the salt...

    Solid lotion bar ratio

Thankyou! Yes, I meant to say 33 lol I have made some nice bars, just not that particular ratio. I make tons of soap, beard balms and whipped butters. The whole lotionbar or solid bar, is my new obsession! Lol

    Solid lotion bar ratio

Thankyou so much! I will definitely post! Here's some coffee bars I made, but it wasn't that ratio. I did however use Mango butter which is probably my all time favorite butter to use! I will use the WSP calc and do a 2 oz batch to fill a mold. I'll report back! It may be later today, as we're...

What does adding sea salt to soap do?

I frequently make salt bars and my family and friends love them! I use 100 percent coconut oil, superfatted to 20 percent. I also use coconut milk as the carrier for the lye. My son who builds homes and has his hands in concrete all day, will only use these. They create a luxurious lather, and...

    Solid lotion bar ratio

Good morning from FL. This is my first post, be gentle lol I do have a question regarding the 1/3 ratio. Is that 1/3 percent of each? So 1/3 oil, 1/3 butter and 1/3 percent wax? Or is this 1/3 cup? I've been making lotion bars for a few months, but I'd like to try this ratio. I apologize for...
