What soapy thing have you done today?

I had soap making paralysis this weekend. I have so many new things I want to try that I couldn't decide - and now it's too late to do anything. Want to try a castile. Want to try a salt bar. Want to try using embeds. Want to try another shaving soap. Need to make some lotions, conditioners, and...

    Rice Water Soap!

Interested to hear what you think of the soap. I LOVE my rice milk soaps. It is becoming my standard liquid additive at this point. So easy to make, so inexpensive, and I love the feel of it in the soap. By the way - when I use rice milk the lye mixture gets very thick just like you described...

Scenting a beer soap - seeking recommendations

I used BB Oatmeal Stout and Almond Biscotti blended at 2:1 respectively. It smells really good even though I’m not usually a fan of sweet scents. There was a BB project that used this blend and that’s where I got the idea. I did another one where I scented the bottom layer with Oatmeal Stout...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I input my recipes into Soapmaking Friend. I have four basic recipes (one is still a work in progress), and one shaving soap (also a work in progress). At least I did *something* soapy.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I had nanny duty for my grandson all weekend so I wasn't even home. No soapy stuff for me till next weekend. On the plus side - most of my soaps are ready to come off the drying rack so I lots of room to make more. I'll worry about what to do with it all some other time. :D

I think these look really nice! It may not have been what you planned - but they are beautiful soaps. I love the colors. I love white soaps. These look great!

    Predictably ruined first batch

Don’t consider it a failure. It’s a learning experience. Everyone forgets to add FO at some point or other. The decision will be whether to have a beautiful unscented soap - or a muddied color and a lovely scent. No biggie. The important thing on the first batch is whether or not the soap came...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Well it's said that it does not need to cure. However, I do plan to cure it for a few weeks.

    Yellow African Shea Butter Soap

Beautiful soft yellow color. I love the texture on top as well. I have not been able to master this technique - it looks so simple yet it escapes me. I love shea butter and like to use it in my palm oil recipes. I've never used yellow shea before and I'm interested in what you think of it in...
