I May Have an Opportunity to Sell

Square for cards (which I was doing a farmers' market selling bonsai). No issues with it for me!

    Coconut Fragrance Fail

Dixie, just to say nope I haven't found a good coconut lime. The lime goes away faster than the coconut! I did NOT like the coconut lime verbena I got from somewhere (I don't remember) at all so I'm with you there.

    Someone asked

I suspect the Tide pod epidemic was overreported. Personally, I know of NO one who personally knows anyone who actually did that. You'd only do it once. And they've had the kid warnings on the pods for over 4 years that I know of. One reason I don't watch the "news" anymore. Funny, I just...

    Only SIX fragrances??

Shunt2011, peppermint never sells for me even though personally I love it! I thought that was weird since a few big "small" soap companies sell a ton of it...I stopped making it too. Six? I'd have empty shelves if I did that...because all I do is soap LOL. If I did lotions and such (in Florida...

SMF April 2018 Challenge - Sous Vide (HP) Soap swirling!

Just remember to check mine, no warping at all, no scent issues or unexpected discolor. I had to squeeeeeeze but I do see a bit of a squish factor like DeeAnna said, but nothing that would bother me. I think by the 2 month mark it'll be like my other bars. This may be due to me using my HP...

    2 Single Oil Soap Updates

What about doing a bastile and adding 5% castor? I know you're going for a single oil...but would the buyer even care? Hrmmmm

    Someone asked

You may want to alert any local soapmakers you know about her in case she tries it with them...we don't need police knocking on our doors asking why we're selling to meth labs!

SMF April 2018 Challenge - Sous Vide (HP) Soap swirling!

*bump* A thought....since this was an experiement, lets try to remember to post pictures in a couple months to see if they cure any differently than other methods? I'm thinking specifically of warping ...

Sharon Johnson E book worth it?

You all reminded me, I noticed I didn't get the "dried around the edges" issue anywhere near as bad when using plastic wrap as a lid...and not at all with the baggie method... :). My first batch I didn't scraped the sides enough and half of it was white chunks LOL. Can be a good design element...

Sharon Johnson E book worth it?

Ah, gotcha...oof it would be soap chunks if you do that! At least how I make it! As soon as I see the vaseline stage start up (usually right after the greasy applesauce "this isn't cooperating" stage), I turn the heat off and prepare to mold. I have left it in longer because I was doing...

Sharon Johnson E book worth it?

Lin, I'm not sure how you do HP, but I definitely do not "sit and watch it all day" LOL. My entire time from printing out a recipe to plopping the crockpot in the sink for washing is TOPS 2 hours. That includes getting my oils out (stored in different parts of the house), measuring, waiting for...

Floating row covers is what I ordered before....?

CP and HP can you do both on the same batch?

And by "very good" it won't lather as well, or feel as good on your skin. And it'll turn into a mushy blob if you leave it near a tiny amount of water-it needs time to evaporate out its own water.

Sharon Johnson E book worth it?

From what I was told by someone who bought the book, it's just the same thing she used to have on her YouTube video (for free). There is no magic bullet. What are you after? If it's fluidity, check out the "ditch the lid" (use plastic wrap) idea or even last months "soap in a bag" challenge-that...

SMF April 2018 (Sous Vide Soap swirl) Challenge Entry Thread

Congrats! Pending more testing, this is going to be my new go to method for small batches multiple times in one cook :). Everyone did wonderfully! Whoooo!

    Rustic Escentuals fragrance reviews

LOL is that a hint? Actually, due to the recent challenge I have a way of better testing scents and will be back on this within the next few weeks-Ionly used one RE during the testing so far but have plenty more waiting!

SMF April 2018 Challenge - Sous Vide (HP) Soap swirling!

Okay, I"m at the computer for a few so a few pictures incoming. Process pictures are in the challenge entry thread :). I love the "mess" left...instead of 7 measuring cups to clean I had 7 baggies to toss! Looking at it, I could probably get a bar out of whats left in the baggies total...putting...

SMF April 2018 (Sous Vide Soap swirl) Challenge Entry Thread

Here is my entry. First pic is the packed crockpot, towel pulled back (after the pic it was placed over all bags and the lid put on-it was full of hot water to help with heat...I think!). Last picture is the final result! Not as much swirl as I thought I did, I think I need something heavier...
