    Metal shelves, sources for signs/covers/etc?

I'm guessing this falls under packaging? LOL The store where I have my soap went to the regular steel retail shelving. I'm looking for the sign holders and such, but all I'm finding is having to order 100 of them. I only need like 10 ! Plus I'd like to cover the shelves with something, I know...

    Only SIX fragrances??

Just a follow up thought, I looked through my sales this year and notice that I tend to sell a few of this and a few of that. It's not like there's six or seven scents that fly off the shelves and everything else sits....so I'm voting against only having six choices. In toothpaste? Sure. But in...

    Brine fail, help trouble shoot?

The salt I use in my puffer's tank absorbs water from the air just sitting, to the point where it becomes a runny mess after a week (I left the lid off a jar by accident). It wasn't instant ocean, it was a different brand but I bought it so long ago I don't remember what it is. It's definitely...

    Coconut oil

I've been using that for a while now. Bit messy to get out of the bottom in the winter, the liner is metal (ask my microwave how I know) so I either have to glove to my elbows and dig or cut the jug in half...or put it in the sun if it's warm enough and melt it. My big lots doesn't have the oil...

    First Soap Smells Weird

Take one off the rack, cut a chunk, use in shower. If you still get that smell, it's oils or FO. If not, the one in the shower went bad. What soap dish are you using? If it's metal, even coated, I'd be suspect....

Oils, Soap and exposure to heat (Carr Fire)

After dealing with DOS, I wouldn't chance the oils and soaps. If there's no way of figuring out exactly how hot it got in there, even the FOs would be suspect for me...although those I might judge by their smell. I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that, glad to hear you/family and housing...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Unpacked my rustic escenutals order...mostly dupes of ones I had so I have enough to make 2lbs of each as soap. That's it! Amd, I've not had a nag champa weep before out of several different ones i've tried...so I'd suspect the stabilizer too.

    Rustic Escentuals fragrance reviews

You know, there's more scents that I wanted to "keep" but I think they got shuffled in the confusion. 2017 was a loooonggg year and 2018 isn't much shorter, plus I had a major DOS outbreak that ended up in a mass cleanout and some stuff went. (DOS was not RE's fault except the few noted in the...

    Rustic escentuals annual scent event

msunnerstood-unless you are using these for bath and body products, vs soap, hold off on judging OOB-I find that they do smell differently when soaped :). That goes for every supplier I've used so far, and I do HP which isn't supposed to alter the scent *that* much I was told...:) Feel free to...

First Craft Market - the Debriefing

Somehow I missed replying..... My one friend didn't put the totes out for people to dig through. She had a vertical display that held one bar of each of her scents, she did quite a few so no problem filling the display. It was like a very shallow tilted back bookcase? Her husband made it if I...

For those that do FM's during the week

Here in Florida 12-5 would be the worst time to do a market in the summer, you melt! My experience (not soap but friends with soaper) is that the weekday ones depend on your target market-if you are aimed at the working person, they are probably at work! That said, if the market has been around...

    Question About Scents

I do that all the time. Hardest part is mixing the scent into the gelled batter for me.

    Wax blends

LOL-I don't do candles but it probably is the same. Just a thought as a consumer, I avoid paraffin now because it makes a lot of soot -I try to just burn beeswax (unscented) or soy (scented).

    Rustic escentuals annual scent event

I don't get it, my shipping was $15 on a $68 order, which is perfectly in line with everything else I've ordered from other places? That was UPS ground, the fedex option was $17 (not a huge difference). What prices were you guys quoted for shipping??

Is there such thing as too much colorant??

As obsidian said, use non white washcloths to be safe :). I have a batch that lathers teal due to me mixing up teaspoon and tablespoon....

    Rustic Escentuals fragrance reviews

Just found my box of testers and notes. Can't believe it's been this long! I'm actually impressed because several of the scents are still strong. Here's updated with the notes I had taken: Bayberry - Not sure what I thought this was supposed to smell like, but it reminds me of a Christmas...

https://www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/rustic-escentuals-fragrance-reviews.60873/ Older thread, and I'm not sure I ever updated all of the tests I did...and I'm still working on testers LOL. Watch out, the sale can lead to lots of 1oz bottles hanging around!
