How to make bath bombs more hard?

I usually wait until they are unmolded and dry, then I spray then with alcohol and let them dry again.

How to make bath bombs more hard?

I use melted coconut oil in them, witch hazel to form and then after they are formed I spray with 91% alcohol and that makes them really hard. I have even dropped one or two on the floor after they have dried and they were still fine.

    Eggs in soap?

I raise ducks and occasionally will add duck eggs to my soap. I do HP so it is very important to temper the eggs (I use the entire egg, not just the egg white) with my oils before adding the lye. Then I stick blend like crazy to keep the eggs from cooking in the crockpot and to fully blend...

    Economical and eco friendly packaging

I haven't used glassine bags for my lotion bars but I do use kraft paper deodorant tubes for them and everyone seems to love them.

    Patchouli Blend Ideas

I do a blend of ginger, patchouli and lilac. I can't keep it in stock. I have started making wax melts and do that blend as well as solid cologne with that blend and they all sell well.

what I did with a fugly soap

If you needle felt, do your design first before putting it on soap. I learned the hard way not to do a design after the soap was felted. Those needles will break in the bar of soap.

    Lotion bars...who knew?

I also use kraft paper push up tubes. People seem to appreciate the more eco choice than plastic. I also make larger bars and put two in an 8 oz craft paper soup cup that comes with a lid.

    CBD oil in CP Soap

I haven't found it to be inexpensive. I do use hemp oil in some of my soaps though which is more affordable.

    Egg soap

It actually didn't turn too brown when I added the lye. Of course I had tempered the egg with the oils right before. I did a bit of zinc oxide to make it whiter before swirling.

    Soaper's Choice Question

I have a membership to Restaurant Depot so I get my coconut oil and olive oil through them. I do order the tallow and specialty oils from Soaper's Choice and as I mentioned above the turnaround time is great.

    Shampoo Bar

I do HP and know that the HP process lowers the pH but still no longer use soap for shampoo.

    Egg soap

This is a photo of one of my HP egg soaps. I scent it with a rose FO with a blend of tangerine, bergamot, ylang ylang, lemon, jasmine and palmarosa EO's.

    Shave Soap Puck vs Cup

No, not at all. I cut it really small and let it dissolve in the lye. that is what I do. I let the silks dry and either crumble them or cut them up really small and then let them dissolve in the lye water.

    Shave Soap Puck vs Cup

I exclusively do HP and make my shaving soap with beer and put corn silk into the lye, also some kaolin or bentonite clay (whichever I have available). I have never added KOH but the soap is lovely, the lather so thick and I have been told by some folks that exclusively shave with shaving soap...

To sell, or not to sell...

I have had my soap business for about six years now and enjoy it so much. I do farmer's markets and craft fairs plus have a web site. It is hard work but I enjoy it so much. I love talking to people and telling them how I make soap and my other products. I am semi-retired from my other...
