    Lip Scrub recipe

Hello everyone! Does anyone have a lip scrub recipe they wouldn't mind sharing? I think it's just castor sugar, some oil and a lip balm flavoring but I could be wrong. Thanks!

New to scrubs. Would love some advice.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I went with this recipe. It seemed extremely oily to use, I need to dial it in. I split the batch and shaved some M&P base into one half. Much better and made the paste thicken even more. But on a brighter note, I made my first lotion today and that turned out...

New to scrubs. Would love some advice.

New to scrubs but looking for recipes. Would like a recipe for sugar or salt scrub. I've seen whipped scrubs and they look okay, but really just need a something basic that I can build off of as well as any tips. Thanks in advance!

Salt Bar Recipe - pulse check

@Obsidian I wanted to say thank you for your insight and recipe. I do have some questions : 1. I have been doing 50% salt, but have been wondering about going higher. Is there a reason you choose 35%? What does more salt get you? 2. What's the benefit of a salt bar compared to a normal bar...

    Drag marks coffee grinds

Cutting with a knife will cause this. The surface area on the face of the blade is dragging across the soap when you cut. I used to get them as well. I switched to a wire cutter and it became a non issue. Edit: Nevermind, saw you were using a cutter. Is the blade clean? Smooth on the cutting...

    Lotion bar recipe request.

First batch is done. I do have a question. I used white beeswax from bulk apothecary and I have a weird waxy smell in the finished product. I smelled the bag of beeswax and it has the same strong wax smell. Is this normal?

    Lotion bar recipe request.

Hey everyone. I have searched through the forums and found some good info on lotion bars. But I was wondering if my idea would work. I plan to make some today and my recipe is going to be Beeswax 33% Almond oil 33% Coconut oil 30% Jojoba 3% Any changes or suggestions? Also, can I use FO or...

I could use some advice on a recipe.

I tried Obsidian's salt bar recipe last night (CO 80%/OO 20%, SF20%, 50% salt) so we'll see how that goes as far as longevity.

I could use some advice on a recipe.

Thanks for all the responses! So if I'm reading everything correctly, there's no hard rule on SF % but rather trial and error with a base knowledge of "once you go above a certain amount of CO, SF % goes up"?

I could use some advice on a recipe.

Is it all guesswork as far as what percentage to use or is there a formula or guideline? It seems like once you get above 20% CO the suggestions from other members goes up as far as SF%. I'm trying to figure out a good starting point for SF% when using high amounts of CO. Also, what if there are...

I could use some advice on a recipe.

Is there a formula or method for calculating SF or is it more trial and error? I know higher the CO the more oil you need to leave in, just curious how these recipes calculate that.

I could use some advice on a recipe.

What's your SF value on that one? Also, how do you know how much to SF a recipe?

I could use some advice on a recipe.

Hello! I'd love some advice from you all. I'm looking to make a recipe that's got a lot of longevity, hardness, and cleansing properties. From what I understand oils with high palmitic are a good way to get there. How can I also get a higher cleansing bar? I've been thinking about doing a 50/50...

    I messed up big time!

Hi, wanted to get some feedback. The other day I made a 100% coconut oil soap recipe that I use quite often. Normally I superfat @ 20%. Well today I'm cleaning the soap station and the soap drippings are like concrete. I'm like "hmm" thats weird. I went back and looked at my print out and sure...
