    Zany's no slime castile

Thank you very much for this reply! I'll definitely try this. Just took a pic of today's look of this sh#t and going to post it in a new thread. :)

    Castile "superlye" method experiment

Update. My control batch is a nightmare. The Black sea lye is very mineralised, so there is no way I add so much just like this. Diluted in more water it was OK, but trying ti make a lye solution with it just like this didn't work. Mashed potatoes state. Added more water just to make it liquid...

    Zany's no slime castile

Thank you welcoming me! The Black sea lye is an unique ingredient indeed. I've grown knowing about it and it's great. I have not so good news though. I'm afraid I ruined my batch. I made another recipe without a problem, but seems like it's not an easy ingredient to work with. The...

    Castile "superlye" method experiment

I can't figure out what was your recipe... lye solution of what percent? 31% seems pretty strong, because the main thing I got from this "superlye" method is lye is much more, but along with water it becomes a pretty weak solution. So the point is evaporating is doing its magic, somehow...

    Castile "superlye" method experiment

Yes, it's quite lye heavy. And you are right, it's good idea to take a look at the old thread. That's why I added the link to it :) I have to say the Black sea lye used in the liquid part is very saturated in minerals, up to 250 g to liter. 200 ml of it was OK diluted in water for superlye...

    Deanna, I have a question...

Thank you for pointing Primrose! I'll do this right away, no problems :) As you can see I'm new to this forum, so not familiar with all the rules. So the new thread is https://www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/castile-superlye-method-experiment.76385/

    Castile "superlye" method experiment

Recently I stumbled upon very interesting thread about old recipe and method of making Castile, with superlye, SF -40. https://www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/deanna-i-have-a-question.42922/ The thread is huge and very interesting as experiment to follow. Stretching in time between 2014 to 2017...

    Deanna, I have a question...

I'm glad to revive this thread :) So far the soap smells like olives and is silky pleasant. I'll update for sure!

    Zany's no slime castile

Hi, I want to use Black sea lye for salted water. https://www.luga.bg/en/lye_en/ The saltiness is about 8-9 %, should I use it as is, or better dissolve with same amount of water? I already made a lye solution with it, but it was for a extreme lye castille recipe, 200 ml plus 400 water. The...

    Deanna, I have a question...

Hello everyone! Found this thread occasionally and read for about 3 days with increasing curiosity :) On the page 6-7 I definitely knew I have to try it! Weird sense of being a witness of a past is great I have to admit. Well, I stumbled upon this right on time to give it a try. I wanted to make...

    Zany's no slime castile

Thank you very much! I'm trying to be patient :) I just wonder does salt and soda do something special for soaping in general. Not only in this recipe, but in generic soap formula.

    Zany's no slime castile

Can I twist this recipe to boost curing time in multiple oils recipe? I mean if I use not only olive oil, but apply to 40:60 SAT:UNSAT formula, can it still be beneficial to have harder soap bar faster? I hope so, as I just made such formula soap with some green tea and much clay in it. Looks...
