DOS for the first time! Talk me down off the ledge!

EDTA and sodium gluconate? I've been using sodium lactate, is that considered a chelator? Guess I'll need to read about chelators...

    Brambleberry Shipping to Canada?

I've been told that to go the the USA you'll just keep proof of your 2 doses of COVID vaccine, but that you will need a negative COVID test to get back into Canada! 😤 How are you supposed to do that while you're in the USA? Does anyone know? It must be expensive... Also, it means that a...

Does (can) FO change the color of lotion like soap?

I make lotion bars and has the same question, as I have VS for CP soap but not for lotion... Would VS meant for CP soap work in lotion?

Macaron lotion bars (third time’s the charm!)

I made new molds that are even better! 🤩 Old molds New molds Side by side comparison Result The 2 top ones are actual macarons. ;) The lotion bars made with the old molds were already pretty realistic, so I’m very excited to try my new molds!

Lotion bar recipes ~ feedback needed

I decided to go with #4, it’s my favorite and it’s solid enough to be safe to travel with, yet soft enough that you don’t have to rub it on your skin forever for it to melt. Where do you find 92 degrees coconut oil?

Lotion bar recipes ~ feedback needed

I agree, but its price is very high so I’ll keep using it only for lotion bars intended for myself or fiends and family gifts.

Lotion bar recipes ~ feedback needed

Hi! After playing around with recipes with different proportions of beeswax, butter and liquid oils, I’m trying to decide which to use for a custom order (a friend of mine fell in love with my realistic macaron shaped lotion bars and wants to gift them for Christmas). I initially avoided...

Macaron lotion bars (third time’s the charm!)

You have NO idea how good they are! I used to be obese before my anorexia relapse 5 years ago because I was a sugarholic, so even now I avoid pretty much anything that contains sugars in fear of gaining the weight back. That said, I will allow myself to eat a macaron once in a while (not just...

Macaron lotion bars (third time’s the charm!)

Looks cool, but probably wouldn’t retain every detail the way real silicon does.

Macaron lotion bars (third time’s the charm!)

I sacrificed 6 delicious macarons from Boutique Point G in Montreal. The silicons I use is from the company Smooth On (I like Mold Star 16 fast and Mold Max 14 NV). They have excellent customer service and are very fast to answer all your questions. https://www.smooth-on.com In the original...

I meant did you also make your own macarons molds? Mine don’t look so nice but they work great:

    Bubblegum Galaxy & Autumn Highlights

Thanks ! It’s a cheap shoe rack I bought at a hardware store, but it’s very practical because I can take it apart and store it flat when I’m not using it.

Macaron lotion bars (third time’s the charm!)

For those who thought the first macaron lotion bars looked like real macarons... With colours: And those I’m RIDICULOUSLY proud of 😝: I love the silicon molds I made using real macarons! Can’t wait to try them with soap! In case anyone is curious, these are the real deal from Boutique...

    Bubblegum Galaxy & Autumn Highlights

Thanks, I hesitated between using titanium dioxide so the background would be really white or using activated charcoal so it would be black. I didn’t use enough so it’s gray... I’m thinking the white would have looked better... I’ll do that next time.

    Anyone knows what *this* is?

Are stearic spots bad? 🙀 Can I still use my soap? Last time I made a soap with a lot of activated charcoal the white spots appeared gradually (over days), first on top of the soap and then on the sides too. I forgot to mention the spots weren’t there when I cut the soap, they took a few hours...
