How much of each are you using? I usually only use EDTA. But just received my Sodium Gluconate this week. Today was the first day using it. I added it to lye water at 0.5% of total batch weight. I also added 1% CA. But I wondered about using both EDTA and Sodium Gluconate. And no CA.

Here is a pic of the suds I get from this soap. It actually provides much more in the shower when I’m lathering up but I don’t believe that would be an appropriate pic for this site. Anyway, the lather is very lovely and wanted to share the follow up pic with you.

Hmm... I obviously need to read up more on my oils (ie. avocado and unsaponifiables). I started using the soy wax because I wanted to push the stearic acid number up for hardness. Then found out the soy wax was a mix of palmitic, oleic and stearic. So tried to figure out my soap properties...

I was using the palm oil to use up some I had left that needs to be used.

Avocado 25%, CO 18%, Palm Oil 16%, Kokum Butter 10%, RBO 8%, Castor Oil 3%. NaOH Superfat 3%. Liquid:Lye Ratio 1.7:1. Sat:Unsat 45:55. Fatty Acid Percents: Lauric 9, Myristic 4, Palmitic 18, Stearic 15, Ricinoleic 3, Oleic 40, Linoleic 8, Linolenic 0 I did divide my SoyWax out as instructed...

So I have finally gotten around to trying the soap with the 20% soy wax. I found that it was difficult to start a lather just by using my hands. But when I use with a loofa/sponge it lathered up nicely. But that after showering with the soap my skin felt tacky. Has anyone else found that...

For those interested here is the PDS information from SoapGoods on their Stearic Acid. . Sorry the first one was hard to read. And again it looks like a mix of Palmitic, Stearic, Myrstic.
