    Curing Racks

I save the brown paper from supply orders and dry my soap on that. I have shelving in my basement - kept at 40% humidity. When I first began making soap I was using a plastic bin like the one below. Then I made too much soap! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Storage-Basket-White/25515130

SMF March 2021 Soap Challenge - Air Blow Technique aka Dutch Pour Technique aka Wind Blow Technique

So I just made my entry. I loved my base, that being said, the rest of it is a bit much. I made my very fluid, 30% solution with a lot of OO. I got the white base down, the colored batter and then the white was thickened just enough to not blow very well. I ended up using a pallet knife...

    Containers for Lye Solution

I use the ziplock containers. I masterbatch but I still measure out into the ziplocks. Best thing is you can draw cool skulls and crossbones with a sharpie and write LYE all over them. They last forever and they can be covered to prevent spills.

SMF March 2021 Soap Challenge - Air Blow Technique aka Dutch Pour Technique aka Wind Blow Technique

Is anyone changing their recipe for the top? I used my favorite recipe for the base but I am thinking I might want to use a slower moving recipe for the top.

SMF March 2021 Soap Challenge - Air Blow Technique aka Dutch Pour Technique aka Wind Blow Technique

I have a question. I made my base soap and it is CPOPing right now. When I get ready to do the blowing should I unmold it and use the smooth bottom? My thinking is I would be able to work more easily if it is unmolded and you have the smooth surface.

    Need Advice Regarding Embeds

I CPOP with M&P embeds. The soap I did for the galaxy soap is an example. I actually use M&P embeds quite often.

    New Recipe Difficult

When I started creating recipes I used the following to help me understand both the oil properties and how the property numbers relate to the finished bar. https://www.modernsoapmaking.com/blog/soapcalcs-soap-quality-numbers...

    Newbie to CP soap

One pound means 16 ounces of oil. Be sure to use a soap calculator and if you have a pringles can and some freezer paper to line it, that will make a good mold. You can also use a milk container. I would try to find something closer you your batter weight to start. It will be easier than...
