Soap has not lost anymore weight. It has been less than 4 weeks.

Hi @Zany_in_CO So would lowering the SF from 5 to 3 or 2 make that much of a noticeable difference in the hardness/longevity but yet be as conditioning? This is the batch that I was asking about. I've tweaked the other batches to increase or at least even out the palmitic and stearic but...

Soap has not lost anymore weight. It has been less than 4 weeks.

Hi @DeeAnna thank you for your response. I don't have that recipe for those bars with me at the moment. I did however choose 33.33% lye concentration which is the same as the other bars. I'll wait another week or so and check it one more time to see if changed. With that being said...

Soap has not lost anymore weight. It has been less than 4 weeks.

Hi All, I made a bunch of 500gram batches about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I have been weighing the bars every few days by grams. One batch has not changed in weight in about 10 days. When I press on it in the center, there is an ever so slight softness to it... It's not stiff like some other bars...

What's the worse thing that can happen if I scorched my goat milk?

I wonder if it comes down to everyone's pH? I was reading how goat's milk soap has the same pH as human skin. I haven't researched it all that much so just going on a couple of quick searches and articles.

What's the worse thing that can happen if I scorched my goat milk?

Hmm. So far it sounds like... in the immortal words of Public Enemy... Don't believe the hype. I've been reading about how it's deeply hydrating, rich in nutrients, high milk fat etc. Is it fair to say that you can probably get that through oils and butters? Is there something that milks...

What's the worse thing that can happen if I scorched my goat milk?

Yes, I noticed that. It has a nice tan hue to it. :) I'm ok with the color change. Do you personally find a different feel / benefit to the gm versus just oils and butters? I'm not quite at tallow soap making just yet.

What's the worse thing that can happen if I scorched my goat milk?

Hi all, So.... I made quite a few of CP batches here and there... all in the 500 grams per batch range to get my feet wet and get the feel of it. I then thought I would give it a try with goat milk that I picked up from a nearby farm. They are sold frozen in quart sized plastic milk jugs...

    Hi there...

Hey @KDP New Bedford (New Beige) and Fall River are like cousins. We're about 15 minute from each other if that. Yup... Property taxes are super crazy high over here. Eventually, upon retirement, we're thinking of moving out of the state. Haven't quite figured out where to just yet. Trying...

    Hi there...

Hi @Zany_in_CO I am in Fall River, which is about an hour to Woostah! and about 30 minutes to the Cape / Bourne Bridge (with no traffic) and home to the one and only Lizzie Borden and Emeril Lagasse! I was born and raised here, moved away for a little bit but then came back. I was around...

    Hi there...

Hi all, Steve here from Massachusetts. I joined this forum about 2 months ago and have been perusing this site even before that trying to soak up (little pun there) as much as I can. I have made some CP in the past as well as a little bit of M&P. I am just a hobbyist trying to impress...
