Brambleberry scents that I have are very light in scent. Is that the norm?

Thanks! @MelissaG I purchased a few oils from MWF a year or so ago for candles. Of the 4 samples I got from them I only used 2 in candles and have not even tested them yet... Go figure... The other 2 are sitting on a shelf. It's as if the universe is telling me that these 2 are here to use...

Brambleberry scents that I have are very light in scent. Is that the norm?

Thanks @Carly B I'll definitely check out Nurture! I have purchased candle supplies (wicks and oils) from Flaming and FB but never really looked into them for CP soaps. Gonna give them another look for this! I definitely want a long lasting strong orange-y scent... also a big fan of mint...

Brambleberry scents that I have are very light in scent. Is that the norm?

Hi @TheGecko , thanks for the heads up! Do you have any fav's that work well for you that you can recommend? I kinda like woodsy/pine, fruity/citrus (from what I've read, doesn't stick well), dragon's blood-y/patchouli-ish. And I hear ya on the waiting part.

Brambleberry scents that I have are very light in scent. Is that the norm?

Thank you @The_Emerald_Chicken @Ephemerella for your responses. I will definitely keep an open mind :) with these. I do like, for me, a stronger scent... not so much men's cologne / Old Spice / Axe, but something that you can easily notice and preferably lingers a bit on the skin. I work...

Brambleberry scents that I have are very light in scent. Is that the norm?

Sooo... I purchased some masculine and floral scents from Brambleberry in the trial sizes. None of these OOB are super strong. The majority of these are very light in scent to me. Will these light scents stick around in soaps or even last? I have looked at the SMF Fragrance Oil Review...

Kaolin Clay with Lard? Sorbitol... liquid or powder?

@AliOop gotcha. Do you add via % of PPO as well? ETA: Do you notice a difference in the soap itself with or without?

Kaolin Clay with Lard? Sorbitol... liquid or powder?

@AliOop I was going to ask about a chelator as well. Is that more for folks that have hard water? Where I live, and surrounding cities and towns, we have soft water. Per my water department "super soft water". Or would soap scum still occur with soft water?

Kaolin Clay with Lard? Sorbitol... liquid or powder?

Thanks @Paulie I'm going to use it. Can't hurt... Right?

Kaolin Clay with Lard? Sorbitol... liquid or powder?

Thank you @LynetteO @AliOop @dibbles for your responses! Time to play! For the sorbitol.... I would use 1 tsp ppo? Is that correct? Thanks again, Steve

Kaolin Clay with Lard? Sorbitol... liquid or powder?

Hi All, I have been reading countless threads about lard and went out a bought a little 1lb tub of it while my other soaps cure. In the threads I've seen different recommended ratios... 50% to 80%. However, I don't recall seeing anything about koalin clay being used. Would a lard soap...

Ugh, I think I ruined my silicone mold

464 is a container wax. You would be better off with a tart wax like 494 or another brand of tart wax and just pour into clamshells https://www.amazon.com/Clamshell-Tight-Clear-Plastic-Cavity/dp/B017QKXYDG

Would cocoa butter be considered as drying to the skin?

Soooo... I apparently I may have been crying wolf. @Marsi @TheGecko @Zing @Mobjack Bay @penelopejane @KiwiMoose @MelissaG @johnnyusa I weighed some of these "4 ounce" bars that I have been complaining / scratching my head about.... the ones that I poured at the end of August. Looks like...

    Recipe assistance

Yup. I guess I apparently didn't take that into consideration 😬. When I originally made the batches, I was weighing the bigger bars every couple of days by grams. Not even thinking of the smaller, original 4oz bars. Anyway, I stopped weighing them, life stuff happened, and forgot about the...

    Recipe assistance

Hi @lsg I tested the top one (p+s =31) at 6 weeks and the bottom one (p+s =42) at 4 weeks. I figured with that higher amount I would have noticed a difference. Unfortunately no. I'm trying that top recipe with the bigger bars I have and going to weigh them this time and test. I'm now thinking...

Would cocoa butter be considered as drying to the skin?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to see what I can come up with. Everyone here from what I've read is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Great community here. I know it takes time and testing so I'm down for the challenge!
