    Ph tester? Making lotion

Seems to work fine. Honestly, I don't use it a lot but, when I do, the results of the meter and the strips are fairly close. I'll admit, though, I find it awkward/confusing to use.

    Ph tester? Making lotion

I do have a pH tester but, after testing several lotion batches and being consistently in an acceptable range, I no longer test my lotions made with the DIY recipe. I got this one: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B088LPLRMD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Really exciting fare around here tonight (not!).... a can of baked beans with weiners over toast. I may need to fire the chef if this keeps up.

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

I labelled these lotions today. The soaps aren't quite ready for packaging just yet but labels are ready. I decided to try matching lotions and soaps this year. I'll have three in total, these two as well as Rose Quartz.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I haven't tried NDA's version. The one I used is from Village Craft & Candle. It's lovely, more on the green side than overly floral. I find Lily of the Valley can be kind of cloying, which is why I've stayed away from it. It's the first time I'm using it in soap so I'll have to get back to you.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I managed to make a batch of soap today. I used Village Candle's Citrus & Sage FO and it soaped beautifully and it smells really good. I also made two small batches of hand & body lotion, one with the same FO, Citrus & Sage and the other is Lily of the Valley. This year, I'm trying to make a...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Happy birthday, Zing. It was also my ex-husband's birthday (and Oprah's), and today is my grandson's birthday. Our family has quite a few end of January birthdays.

Shower Lotion Bar Tests and recipes

I made some minis and one of the minis lasted 2 baths for me (I prefer baths to showers).

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

And then, a little later, I came across this MSM cream recipe from @Zany_in_CO that I really wanted to try. I made a 200 gram batch, some for my husband, some for me, and maybe some to share with a couple of friends.

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

I made two batches of 20 lip balms today (Double Bubble Gum and Cocoa Butter Mint) for upcoming markets and some magnesium oil just for myself. I'm thinking of making some Epsom Salt bath bars (recipe from the Moon Cake Cult group on FB).

    Honey disaster in CP

That wasn't relevant in this case. I use equal parts water and lye and add the milk to my oils. Believe me, I've tried it all the ways. It always overheats in the mold. I've been making soap for almost 10 years now and this one does it to me every.single.time. That's why I'm now looking at...

    Honey disaster in CP

@KiwiMoose Not the best time to ask me (I'm beyond exhausted right now and the bottle of red isn't helping) but.... This is an Oatmeal, Milk, & Honey soap that was left outside at -15(ish)C (bloody cold for here!) until it (the soap) had cooled to room temperature. Then I brought it indoors...

Shower Lotion Bar Tests and recipes

Agreed. I did discover that 1/4 cup of the Adzuki beans is 50 grams. ;) Now that the bars are unmolded, I'm finding that the combo of the cocoa butter and the FO together almost smells like coffee. I'm liking it more now.

Shower Lotion Bar Tests and recipes

I made them, too. I did half a recipe - 5 oz each of the cocoa butter and the shea butter. It made 5 of the square bars and 5 of the little flowers. They're scented with Honey, I Washed the Kids; not terribly impressed with the FO at first but it's growing on me.
