Does this 50% shea butter soap recipe sound good enough to make enough to sell?

OMG this app is making me batty! 3rd post it's eaten in 20 minutes! Grr. Ok, I was saying, I also had a batch of tallow soap do something similar. I had CPOP'd 1lb of it, and poured 1lb of it into individual molds. The CPOP'd loaf had that same grainy fatty feel all over the outside, although...

Does this 50% shea butter soap recipe sound good enough to make enough to sell?

Well, I know cocoa butter is known for something similar, like Lin mentioned, even in chocolate, when it has gotten warm and then cooled again. It is harmless though. I wonder if all the other butters do that as well? I know my high-shea bars get ashy, and that it was a bit waxier when I wiped...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Got feedback from mom, mom's boyfriend, and his brother on stuff I sent 3 months ago. Very honest useful feedback, some of which I had already observed -- peppermint rosemary bars did not hold their scent after only a few uses, and some that is marketing oriented, as I begin planning my target...

Thanks! I would be happy to supply a copy of my superfat spreadsheet, maybe in exchange for a copy of the finished software, And thanks for the link to the lye calculator! Seems to work well!

Does this 50% shea butter soap recipe sound good enough to make enough to sell?

Hi, I looked at your thread, and what you got on your high-shea bars is very similar to the ash I get on my high-shea bars. Mine does wash off, and also simply buffs off with a soft cloth. It IS a bit more fatty than some others, but is harmless on these bars. :-) If you read this whole thread...

    Making Soap from Washing Soda?

Not that I'm telling you -- but yeah, kidney issue reared its head in the form of a 4cm (not mm, cm!) Staghorn-type kidney stone

Does this 50% shea butter soap recipe sound good enough to make enough to sell?

Knew you'd like it! Yes, they are definitely a 'luxury bar' and if ya sell em, probably should be priced as such, at least in my mind's eye. Especially if you do a variation with the mango too. BTW, those are just variations on my recipe, they're not my own final secret recipe, and I'm not...

Why is it my Soap didn't have much bubble or lather? What's wrong?

Ron, you don't need the cdea to make a 'commercial' bar. Remember, you're trying to provide a better bar, not the same cheap crap being spewed out by everyone else. Provide better quality and you will set yourself apart and build your market with soap that stands out from the competition. Yes...

    My First Show!!

I would think it would be simple to make some angled ramp type thingys with a 1x6 piece of wood, and a medium-sized dowel-rod, and maybe a piece of trim board at the front edge to keep the baskets from sliding. glue the dowel rod to the back-underside of the plank, affix the trim to the...

    Intentionally 'skin drying' soap.

As has already been mentioned, when you strip all of the skin's protective layer of natural oils off, it works that much harder to produce MORE oil to try and regain its protective layer. To reduce this, use a less harsh soap. It does not have to leave your skin "moisturized" or oily-feeling...

    My First Show!!

I think if you put colorful cloth liners in your baskets, that would offset the brown-on-brown-on-brown look... your brown soaps would then be in the colorful baskets, on the brown burlap, on the colorful tablecloth. Right now, the soaps blend in too much to the baskets. They need some...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I did that once. Only once. lol Now I have a procedure, mix it at arm's length, with stove hood on, then immediately move it to the back of the stove, and start the next one. all mixed lye goes to the back of the stove, where it is safe from breathing, being bumped, etc. lol
