Soaps causing skin problem on hands

(As an experiment, I just successfully linked to different calculator in my previous post. Shh...) And now, back to the topic of the thread!

    Lip Balm or Lip Gloss?

I asked my twenty-something daughters what they thought. Aura: hmm... That could work Omni..... Oh, I would definitely try that!

    Lip Balm or Lip Gloss?

As a possible customer, I'd rather buy balm. Gloss always feels to me likes it's sliding right off my lips! 😁

Where did you learn to soap?

Like @AliOop I found a blog, but mine was a "crunchy" blog and their recipe was measured by volume!

I dont know how to make my own recipe

In another thread, this person shared a recipe they created with soapcalc. They haven't been back in a month, so I'm hoping that means they were successful!

    Cold Process at Hobby Lobby

Yup. That's just how you would do it-- run it through the calculator with Shea as one of the oils. The traditional trinity is 1/3 each, so about 33% each oil.

    Teeny tiny workshop

Aura went with me and acted as my assistant. She knew exactly what I was looking for whenever I needed something. She's headed back to campus soon, so I will lose my personal assistant again!

The colors were all from Nurture: Caribbean Blue Savage Garden Copper Penny Also, Kaolin clay in both batches. But I can't remember where I got it. The copper Penny was mixed with a little oil and swirled on the top.

    Teeny tiny workshop

Today, I treated a couple of Youth Group girls to an afternoon of soaping! It was part of the last hoorah for Ro, who is heading if to school in California tomorrow! I bought containers with lids so that they could safely transport their soap home. They went home with a bunch of instructions...

    “What is this soap for?”

I disagree with this statement. I wash my hands more in the kitchen than the bathroom. I don't want to strip the oils from my skin wherever I'm washing them. That's all the cleansing number means, after all -- how stripping it is. All soap will clean your hands. I also don't feel like I need...

    Did I ruin this soap?

I'm not trying to talk you into CP. However, I do want to clear up a few things for other people new to soap making who might read this thread. 1. The way to ensure you don't have lye heavy soap is to run your recipe through a lye calculator and be sure your measurements are accurate with a...

    Did I ruin this soap?

Ok. So, HP soap still has to cure. If you mean saponify, or become zap free, most CP soap has done that within 48 hours. And, if you force gel in an oven. It speeds up saponification. It's like the best of both worlds, to me. I don't have to babysit a pot of soap or worry about stages, and I get...

Soaps causing skin problem on hands

Since you didn't ask for help formulating your own recipes, I'm going to assume you're looking for advice on buying soap. I will suggest that it is the formulation. As @AliOop mentioned, coconut oil makes a drying soap. If you are trying to avoid "detergents," look around for handmade bar...

    Feedback

I love a white bar of soap! What is discouraging you about the appearance? What don't you like? Everyone's taste is different. My personal preference, though, is to avoid things like flower petals on the top. They can turn brown over time and I have to be careful to remove them so they don't...

What's for Dinner tonight ? What are you having ?

We had my version of fried rice, which the kids call Spicy Rice. When the boys came back from Ireland, they brought the plague with them. I was hoping the spiciness would clear up some of my congestion. Sniff.

Glycerin base with Coconut milk base

Just for clarification: It sounds like you purchased a premade base. Is that correct? Did you add anything to the base? I don't use melt and pour, but this sounds pretty common to me. The experts will probably weigh in shortly on how they deal with this problem.

Kind of a weird question about moulds

That's one of my favorites! Especially for the Stephenson's shampoo bar base. My family likes it when I use this oval mold: BAKER DEPOT silicone Mold For Handmade Soap 6 Cavity Oval Shape fat bath bombs Pink Color,Set of 2 https://a.co/d/1bGR5tR
