Very nice! I love the off-centered design.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Oh no I just bought some letter stamps from Etsy, like these https://www.etsy.com/listing/202401197/alphabet-soap-mold-soap-package-soap?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=alphabet+letter+soap+stamp&ref=sr_gallery-1-9&pro=1&sts=1&organic_search_click=1

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made a huge batch of use-up soap with some infused oils that needed to be used, some lard and tallow, and some soy wax. I thought about adding some castor oil and or coconut but I just wanted to be stuff that I needed to use and wouldn’t have used otherwise. It MIGHT be my January challenge...

What's for Dinner tonight ? What are you having ?

My sweet dh made meatloaf and mashed potatoes last night, smelled so good when I came into the house from my studio. Joy of Cooking recipe. Big snowstorm today so we’ll have some nice comfort food to enjoy.

First soap batch ever in our RV

Very nice! And, what a fun adventure. Re your questions, your soap might have gotten too warm and started to “volcano” although with no sugar I’m not sure why that would happen. Looks fine though. The slight discoloration could be from a partial gel, where maybe the inside was slightly warmer...

    Best opaque M&P base

Hi all, what brand of opaque M&P do you like best? I bought some from Hobby Lobby and it seems sort of gluey. TIA, and sorry if this has been covered, I couldn’t find it.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Ahhh… shoot. I too have a salad shooter - works well for shredding. Half the oils is very lye heavy though. Well you could always salt it out… I don’t know if shredding it would help. And I would just add shreds to a recipe - would make the superfat high, and then stick blend it to a fine...

What soapy thing have you done today?

@dibbles Ug, I hate when that happens. I did this recently, made some lye heavy soap by accident, although my path to disaster was different. Here’s a thought. I too hate rebatching. But, what if you grated it and made ciaglia soap and incorporated some of it? I go as high as 1:2 (shavings to...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Here’s my setup. Liking it so far. The narrow containers (4”) are good for fragrances & essential oils as they are less tippy. The wider ones (8”) are good for micas and other dryer lighter things. These shelves are the “Besta” shelves from ikea, 14” deep.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I have been working on a studio reorganization project - I bought some deep shelving from IKEA and have finished putting them together. I reoraganized my fragrance oils and essential oils - fragrance oils are grouped by scent family (Christmas, citrus, fall, floral, fruity, hippy, ocean, spicy...

    Stick Blender Issues

I did the exact same thing making potato leek soup with my kitchen stick blender recently! Also (points @LucyFae) she did it first! It’s her fault! I just realized I already mentioned the Ocean State Job Lot deal in this exact same thread… 😬 What can I say I’ve had a cold and cold medicine...

    Stick Blender Issues

Wait what… I probably knew this and forgot. I found the lock button awkward at first too @dibbles but now it seems easy. I really like these stick blenders. I have three of them because I got them for free (kind of) from Ocean State Job Lot - New Englanders here’s the link...

Where to get high quality masculine fragrances?

Agree - I mixed Oakmoss Sandalwood with Crafter’s Choice sandalwood and it FLEW off the shelves, gender non-specific! Maybe more men. I don’t like some fragrances and always feel so let down when I make a purchase and then open the bottle and smell what I call the cheap aftershave smell. I don’t...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I finished my last weekend of markets for the season, and I’m beat! I’m so excited to focus on other things for a while, like reorganizing my studio (big IKEA order arriving today!), 😬 experimenting with olive oil substitutions, experimenting with making new products (what’s all this talk about...

New Update on my Baby Girl...not good

This is so sad to hear - you sounded so hopeful when she was discharged. I’m thinking of your family.

    Soaping in the cold

I work in a studio heated by a woodstove - I keep it pretty warm but if it’s very cold (like 0 F) it cools off. A couple of years ago I invested in a ”Cater Gator” and it has been a total game changer for me. It’s like a giant cooler with drawer slides - I use steam pans to hold my soap loaves...

    titanium dioxide squirt bottle users

I 100% read cheesecloth, not cheesecake 😄, that’s an idea - but it does get pretty thick I wonder if the cheesecloth would just clog up. The mixing balls also might work, but again the mixture is kind of thick and you’d have to use a pretty big container for them to be able to move at all as the...

    titanium dioxide squirt bottle users

I think they have the same issue as ball bearings, they are round and could get lodged in the opening. Also, assuming they are glass, there’s always the chance of breakage. Little bolts have an irregular shape and seem to do well at moving things around. Because I’m cheap I first tried it with...
