Pokeweed Berries for a Deep Fuscia Red

FOUND SOME!!! :D Just got a whole bag full of them! Also, just doing a little research on the pokeweed plant and found this on Wikipedia: "Since the juice of pokeweed can be absorbed through the skin, contact of plant parts with bare skin should be avoided," and "plant sap can cause...

Pokeweed Berries for a Deep Fuscia Red

    Catnip?

:D I must admit I LOLed at this. Most of the cats I've had have never really cared about catnip and the few that have paid it any attention never spazzed our about it, but I've seen some cats just go crazy and it's hilarious!

Pokeweed Berries for a Deep Fuscia Red

I have tons of these plants right down the road from my house. I never knew what they were but always admired how pretty they were. I might have to test them out and see what color it will produce in CP!

    Watermelon from WSP?

I second the above. Watermelon Lemonade should not be used in in CP. It accelerates faster than a jet airplane lol. I whisked it and still reached trace in under a minute.

    Vanilla Test Project

NG's Vanilla Bean is really the o ly vanilla I've tried, but it sticks well, smells lovely, and doesn't discolor to a deep brown at 3%. It's kind of in between a caramel and a milk chocolate

    Ringworm! Blech!

Yes, the ashes cleared it up. If I remember correctly, they made a paste out of them with some water and applied it like that. I'll have to ask and see if mu mom remembers. I was like 6 or 7 at the time lol ETA: 'Scuse me, it wasn't ashes. I asked her and she said it was the tar from a piece of...

    Ringworm! Blech!

I had ringworm as a kid and my granddaddy told my mom to burn some paper and put the ashes on the infection. To this day, I am reminded of it whenever I smell paper burning

Customer Asking for Info about Allergic Reaction

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt it's something the baby ate. She told me that the redness appeared within minutes, and, in the picture she sent me of the reaction, I swear I can see something resembling a small handprint on the side of the poor baby's face :(

Customer Asking for Info about Allergic Reaction

Thanks for the replies everyone! Sorry I'm responding so late. Power went out last night. She already had a full list of ingredients because I label absolutely everything I give to people just for this reason. I'll recommend for her to see a specialist. Thanks everyone!

Customer Asking for Info about Allergic Reaction

Not sure if this belongs in the business forum or not.. If so, mods, feel free to move it to the proper section. I had a woman who had received a sample soap email me stating that her 5 month old had an allergic reaction to my soap after her 5 year old touched the baby's face with soapy hands...

Problems with pink Himalayan salt bar...

I recently had a batch of salt bars that I actually had to force to gel (after 2 hours of waiting!) because of the FO, so it can slow down saponification quite considerably. Now, having said that, I've never used full pink salt, so it may have had something to do with it as well. Maybe someone...

    Bath Bomb

I use micas to color mine, but as Val-11 stared, you have to be light handed. Don't expect to be able to get a rich color with micas unless you want to color the water and possibly the tub. I usually have pastel colored bath bombs.

My first shaving soap is a success!

Thanks! I'll try to get some KOH ordered then.

My first shaving soap is a success!

Ok, I'm admitting that I haven't made it all the way through this thread yet, so the answer may be here, but could shave soap be made with NaOH only? I don't have any KOH, but would like to try it.

    Lichen

That's absolutely stunning! I love the stark contrast of the black to the subtle swirls of earthy colors. Welcome back CaraBou!

Question for those of you who do outdoor shows

I believe I've been able to pull up to all of my tent locations unless there was another vendor in the way.. You just have to have your vehicle out of the show area about 30 minutes before the show starts

    My new (and embarrassing) obsession...

Ahh!! I totally do this!! It's really bad though, because my husband's "quirk" is to have it on an even number.. Can you imagine the remote control battles that occur at my house?? Lol I also thought it was totally normal to match scents to colors though. I do get a little miffed when colors...
