    Before I attempt this CP...

I am trying to go for this. I wanted to try them individually in the cavity, I may still try that. I then decided to try it in the 3 lb mold. I won't like the size, but I'm considering cutting a middle, plain bar off. See what happens!! @toxicon, I went with 33%!

    Before I attempt this CP...

I HUGELY thank you for that, as I'm getting started soon! I'm going to modify the recipe to allow for that. Anything else you see as a potential problem? Should I go closer to 30% or 35%? Instead of the cavity molds (maybe in addition to!) I'm going to try this.

    Before I attempt this CP...

Water as per oils, thank you! I want them to gel, but here's me remembering reading things like soda ash and glycerin rivers that I haven't had to think about with HP! I am wanting to try a butterfly swirl. I know that it's a tough technique for a newb, but it's the technique that is making me...

    Before I attempt this CP...

I'm going to try cp in rectangle bar, silicone cavity molds. I'm sorry, I don't know the size, I'm at work. They hold 6. I really only have some experience with HP, except for one co loaf about a month ago. I'm worried about getting them to gel because of the small size. Is 38% water ok? What...

    Less oily body butter please!

Great! I'm almost out and ready to try again! What about 25% shea, 25% mango and 50% apricot? How might the beeswax help?

    Basics understanding of soap making

I'm brand new and have been doing HP as well. You have a couple more batches under your belt than I, I'm on #8. I love the look and feel of HP, I love being able to unmold it in a couple of hours (although I can be more patient, now that I have some of it out of my system now!). I like the soapy...

Has anyone tried the amethyst glycerin gemstone soap?

Omg... way too big for my taste, I would scale it down, but OMG, I'm in love!!

Has anyone tried the amethyst glycerin gemstone soap?

Thank you, they are JUST gorgeous!! If you have any pics, I would love to see!! SOAP **** for SURE!! It was really hard for me (with an untrained newb eye) to tell just what she was doing with the loaf, as there was no narration. I would LOVE to try one day, after reading everything I can...

Has anyone tried the amethyst glycerin gemstone soap?

ive spent the last hour watching videos, its been TOTAL soap-**** for me!! Yes, looks very time consuming, but SO beautiful!!! Has anyone done this?

    What thickness is your soap?

I like it fat and then cut in half. Good size for my hand. I say this, as I haven't really used any yet!! My first bars are about 5 weeks old now! I've tried just one, I do like the size and shape.

HP Soaping - adding milk after cook?

So... I've used yogurt in my last few HP batches with great success. I'm wondering if sour cream or heavy cream can be used. Is there a reason for yogurt, specifically? Sorry for the hijack!

Does anyone know about keeping bees?

Oh, they're doing a good job! This is the pic she sent me from in the barn. They had to remove the boards to get to the.

Does anyone know about keeping bees?

Thank you so much for the detailed reply, there is a lot of larvae, and I feel terrible. Yes, it mostly very dark, as is the honey strained thus far. It's very good though. I have the combs in a couple of buckets on the back porch. I'm wondering if I should just set the buckets in the freezer. I...

Does anyone know about keeping bees?

Oh my goodness, I don't know ANYONE with bees... from what I've been able to read, they were likely encapsulated, but not anymore since they were torn from a wall in a barn.

Does anyone know about keeping bees?

That makes me REALLY sad... I'm glad the bees were moved and not killed, but now Im Wondering if the queen went too or not. There are still some bees out there, not willing to leave the pieces of comb. I feel bad, but she was going to throw it all away.

Does anyone know about keeping bees?

My neighbor relocated a bunch of bees that had been inhabiting her shed for a few years. I told her that I would take the comb (beeswax and honey,YAY). But the comb is full of larvae, I feel terrible:(. I'm wondering if the ones in their final larval stage (they are mobile) might still hatch.

    HP lovers, please reply here

I used Cafe Bustello, I first mixed as much as I could dissolve in a small amount of water. I decided I might need a bit more so I added, and mixed a bit of my oil in. LOL, I'm wondering if THATS why it marbled. Time do more experimenting!! I now wish that layer was between the cocoa and chlorella.

    HP lovers, please reply here

That's the bottom, instant coffee layer! I don't at all dislike it! I wonder if that's just the way it behaves, or if I should have mixed more. It's really growing on me!
