Is Pyrex all right for one use?

I would not use stainless steel either, I would use plastic with a recycle 2 or 5 number on it. I use these: http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-1-qt-Multi-Mix-Pail-2M3/202264024 you can get them at wal-mart or anywhere that has a paint area.

    CP Felted Soap Problem

My comments were kind and patient. Trust me, there are far more harsh critics of what you did on this site than me. Second, I never said you were not up to the standards to ask questions. I would not have answered if that was the case. I learned by reading the first 10 pages of the...

    Hello, Rebatch!

If I was missing that much oil, I'd dump it all immediately in a crock pot, add the missing oil and hp it.

    CP Felted Soap Problem

First, if you don't have a clue as to what is going on with this - you probably are not ready to be selling soap. So you made 100% coconut oil soap? It would help when you post a question you include your recipe by weight, including alkali and liquid in your lye, and all additives you used...

    Soap supplies online

It is a mineral. Tho the mica we are using is rarely actually the mined mineral, but lab created nature identical compounds. This is done because it is cheaper than the process to purify the natural stiff and make it suitable for cosmetic use. The ground mica us coated in various pigments or...

    Natural Colorants & Colored Lather

Any colorant used in a great enough quantity will tint lather. Many will stain a washcloth. Activated charcoal usually washes out in the laundry , but I'm not sure about others.

    Best hard oils for soap

Yeah I have never used palm kernal, but I would not say it has the same use as cocoa butter. The fatty acid profile is closer to coconut oil, so you have to watch how much you use so the soap doesn't strip your skin.

27#'s in soap and it's getting easier!

Yeah you make your lye at 50% concentration. So equal parts water and NaOH. then you mix the rest of the water with the powdered GM and add that to your oils. I would soap at a 33% concentration so that would just be water equal to your lye weight again. (For example if your lye calculator...

27#'s in soap and it's getting easier!

Yes use less liquid to make your lye. I would try and control gel via concentration and just soap with room temp lye and oils just hot enough to keep your oils liquid. Are you making your lye with goats milk or using the split method?

27#'s in soap and it's getting easier!

Also soaping with higher lye concentration will help prevent gel

Happy with my dual lye tallow soap!!

I use aloe juice, and have 2 dual lye soaps, a 100% olive and a bastile. I also have super soft water, and my NaOH soaps are really hard to wash off. I have not noticed a difference with my dual lye soaps, but I will test again today and report back. Tho come to think of it my dual lye...

    Rancid Smell

It will all depend on the supplier. Some will sell essential oils that are cut with various carrier oils that do not play well in soap. That is why you have to be really thorough in researching the company you buy from

Volcano in HP soap. Garbage or fixable?

What Gent is getting at is that general forum consensus is that new soapers should not be selling soap. It takes time to learn the craft, test recipes, and just generally get up to speed. For instance, you say you are doing HP soap. Why did you choose that process over cold process? If it is...

    Water Creamation

Well this is usually done after the funeral and if there has been a viewing most funeral homes require you to be embalmed, so you have likely been dead for a week or longer.
