May 2017 SMF Soap Challenge - fluid acrylic cell pour

I was worried about that in my demo. That is why while I went for high contrast in the top, I did not go for extreme swirls for the top

Some shaping would be ok, like I said, not all of them are rounded - just not all of them. for example; https://i.ytimg.com/vi/y-aLtUSs2A4/maxresdefault.jpg

Yes - most of the cells in an acrylic pour paining are round or oval, tho some can be strange rounded squares where 2 cells formed next to each other and pressed together.

No, the cells should not be manipulated while pouring. The colors will swirl if you pour the colors correctly. Add your colored batter slowly - so it sits on top of your base cell color. You could use a spoon to get the colors closer to the surface of your base (or a squeeze bottle). Pour...

What kind of doubt? In order to simulate cell formation from acrylic paints, they need to be organic shapes - I do not think you will get those from moulds.

    Well I took another plunge

Well my plan is to find stuff on Thingiverse until I get the printer dialed in and understand the slicer. The printer comes with a copy of Cura. For modeling I will probably use Blendr or maybe Sketchup - not sure yet

    Well I took another plunge

No, its only 200 US. The print area is small, 120mm cubed - but its a highly rated starter machine. The filament is about $20 for a 1kg spool on amazon.

    Orange EO soap issues

Well I do not see partial gel myself. preventing ash... that is one of the unicorns of soap making. Gelling soap will help prevent it. Covering tightly to prevent air from getting to it until the soap finished saponification... most of us have just learned to live with it and wash it off...

    Orange EO soap issues

That looks like ash forming on the cut face of the soap. Since you soaped cool and put it in the refrigerator, you slowed down the saponification. So there was still small amounts of unreacted lye present when you unmolded and cut the soap. This has reacted to the CO2 in the air and formed ash.

    In Shower Lotion Bar

Cant take much credit. This is from swiftcraftmonkey, it is her solid conditioning bar - but I took out the various proteins, silicones, and humectants. She says in her directions that you can just increase the BTMS-50 for everything you take out. :) I did not want to buy a bunch of stuff -...
