    Lye mixing containers

The main reason I stay in the “no glass camp” is that, should I mix in glass and it was to break, I would have a dangerous mess to clean up and I do not like having to clean up messes.

It's a Dog eat Dog world out there!

I don’t see them as vultures in the least. They are companies hoping to provide customers with fragrances they will need now that 1619 had closed. I used a fragrance from Bramble Berry that they discontinued - I would have loved for another company to jump in and pick up that fragrance. I had...

Just wanna share my dog Potato

You two are a match made in heaven! Here’s my little girl - was on “the streets” for about a year before the Humane Society was able to rescue her. She is my sunshine (they named her Sesame - we call her “Sassy”)

    Lye mixing containers

I’m with you. Enough to worry about without worrying about my glass container filled with lye breaking! Iuse the inexpensive juice pitchers (#5 plastic) that I get from the ‘Dollar Store” here in Missouri.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Do not allow her in your soaping area. Period. Off limits. Sorry mother-in-law but, if you are not in my employ, you are not welcome in there.

New Update on my Baby Girl...not good

Can the doctor have his staff figure out what code to use to make sure this surgery gets covered? it is all about the coding.

    My Daughter is really Sick

Has she been assigned a medical social worker to help her get some of the help she needs to cope with all these treatments/surgeries? I don’t know where you are but I know some places employ medical social workers to help people navigate the BS. I pray for your daughter and her husband and you...

    Seizing and tracing too soon

130 seems awfully hot. I don’t know, maybe because I use the heat transfer method. The only thing I melt or “pre-heat” is my cocoa butter because it is so hard. The rest of my oils and butters I just pop in my container and then mix my lye water, stir till clear and then add it to my oils. I...

    Curdled Soap

Just touching your tongue to the bar is not going to do you any harm. Taking a bite would not be good but a quick touch should not cause any concern.

What's for Dinner tonight ? What are you having ?

check out the terrific carbon steel pans from “Smithy”. They are expensive but are a step above all the rest. I use cast iron, almost exclusively, but will put my Smithy skillet up against any other carbon steel brand. Maybe your friend has not really learned how to season/use it. Here’s a link...

White Tea & Ginger FO from Fragrance Buddy

I would definitely try it in a small batch and see how it goes. It seems silly to me to assume it won’t be good until I try it.

    Ione, requesting feedback

What is supposed to be the problem with this? I think you are “over-thinking” - it is lovely..

    Nailed it!

    Lovely!

    Donating handmade soap to charities

Ah - that makes more sense. Thanks!

    Soap Gifting

The only soap I “gifted” when I first got soaping was to my husband and daughter. I was too afraid that the bars were not good enough for others and so they went to those who would not be insulted by my “learning bars.” Once I had been soaping a while (about a year), I started giving soaps to...

Mixing CP soap by shaking bottles

Vinegar is helpful also. This is why I avoid containers (with a “neck”) at all costs.
