When using Soapcalc, I don’’t put in percentages for my lye/water; I enter the ration of water to lye (i.e. 1.7:1). I understand that way better and it works for me.
All of the above except #4. I enjoy also making other body products; I love to cook; we do Renaissance festivals and so I make our costumes for that. I also make clothing for me. I have a wonderful vegetable garden and can my produce. I simply love enjoying that there is so much to do in life...

I had been making soap for “fun” for some time and then our son asked if I would want to do so to supply their business (they own the largest lavender farm in Missouri). I said “sure” thinking they would be selling a couple of dozen bars a week. Sold over 7000 bars last year! I love the process...

I understand but cannot compare the two~ I see Covid as a short-term catastrophe for the vast majority (and yes, we did lose someone close to us so I am familiar with how devastating it was) whereas, imo, Cancer is an on-going scourge.
If I may - “The Big C” refers to cancer not Covid. Covid was a simple virus that affected many people; some a bit, others died from it but it is not nor will it ever be “the big C”. Sorry.

I use wooden molds with silicon liners and unmold after 12-24 hours with minimal problems. I cannot imagine having to wait three weeks to unmold however. Every once in a while, a corner “sticks” so I simply “mush it back on” and then smooth it out. Works well. I love my silicon liners and do...
