    Benefits/drawbacks to mold types?

Hmmm... worth a look!! Is silicone about the only thing you would try?

    Benefits/drawbacks to mold types?

Wood with a liner? I guess I'll go look!

    Benefits/drawbacks to mold types?

I do find it pesky (and a bit wasteful), and not always so smooth to be lining the wood! I do like the sturdiness, and the removable side. I'm wanting to branch out. I'm not sure that I want to sink MORE money into my wood molds by buying a liner for it that may, or may not fit (although it...

Crystal clear cellphane bags in economical quantities

I have an account with local wholesalers, as I was a floral designer for many years. I don't recall (of course I was never looking) ever seeing them! Do you know what they are used for, in the industry? Corsages?? I've been in the hunt for ways to package for friends and family.

    Benefits/drawbacks to mold types?

Bulk apothecary doesn't sell liners for their molds. Do you think I will have trouble getting another vendors liner to fit properly?

    Benefits/drawbacks to mold types?

When I first decided to give soaping a try, I bought a 3 and a 5 lb wooden loaf mold from Bulk apothecary, with a removable side and wing nuts. I don't seem to see wooden molds used very often, is there a reason that many seem to prefer silicone? I guess the obvious benefit would be not having...

    Nurture vs WSP for micas

Thank you so much! I will continue to use Nurture, and I may give Micasandmore a try. Great to know!

    Nurture vs WSP for micas

I just registered at WSP. I notice that their prices are a little cheaper for micas, and free shipping at $25. Are they as good as the micas at Nurture soap, in your opinion?

Something wrong with my recipe? SEIZE!!

. There should have been more left over. I've been over it several times and the only thing I see is that it's a little less water than I was using before. That doesn't account for much though. I've only used it for HP. I sure did want more time! Lessons learned! I do larger batches because...

Something wrong with my recipe? SEIZE!!

EXACTLY!! I'm a little concerned! I filled my mold and only had about a tennis ball left. Feels like it should have been more.

Something wrong with my recipe? SEIZE!!

Wow!! God to know!! I stuck it in the oven (then turned off). Was that not even Necessary? Does seize=near gel? I had plans!!!! Im just glad that I didnt panic! Every time I have made a batch with a plan, I've kept a contingency plan in the back of my head, in case!! Mushing it into the...

Something wrong with my recipe? SEIZE!!

Thanx, 100 better? My oils had cooled to about 110, and the lye was at about 130. Recipe looks ok otherwise? I'm still wondering why I didn't have any leftovers!! It didn't feel like enough water to me, but I AM a NEWB!! This fragrance sure wouldnt have been my first choice. I bought a...

This particular one?? Yikes!! I need to look at that list!! I wasn't aware it existed! Thanx!

Something wrong with my recipe? SEIZE!!

i feel like it has something to do with water/lye, but my untrained eye can't see it. This is the recipe, I did add 5 tsp SL, soaped at about 120 CP. traced quick, seized when I added the fragrance. It was 5 lbs of oils, should have had enough left over from my 5 lb mold to do my pringles can...

Newbie question here!! What is an embossed mold??!?! Lol, I'm obviously no help!! Curious though! Welcome! Edit: I googled, I think I 'get it'! I see some liners, look pretty cool.

Hi, I'm Kelley and I'm addicted to Making Body Products....

Welcome!! Yes, soaping is addictive! I'm brand new, since Christmas, but it's all I think and dream about!! I see potential soap patterns everywhere I look, and I can't wait to get in bed at night to watch soaping videos!! Good luck!! (Humarock Ma.?)
