Thank you everyone. On a separate post @artemis suggested I could use these buds (and rose petals I have) for sachets. I think that is the best course of action. Well, unless I make a brown soap-- although, for me, the whole idea of a lavender bud is a nice pastel soap....

Any ideas on how to respond when soap is seizing? Is the only remedy to quick smash it into the mold?

On a separate post, I asked if anyone thought it would be possible to spray the top of the soap with a good amount of alcohol, then if it softens the top a little, pressing on some new buds. I wonder if those new buds would also eventually brown the soap even more. I would love to figure out a...

@artemis what I was thinking was that I could spray the top of the soap with a good amount of alcohol to maybe make it a little sticky. Then while still a little sticky, I would press the lavender buds onto the top of the bars. Since they been curing for 4 months, maybe whatever causes the buds...

@DrewsSoaps , I feel your pain, although not 150 soaps worth .... a soap batch of mine with lavender buds also just stained brown- looking rat turdish 😞

Is there a point where lavender buds stop browning? I used lavender buds for the first and only time in April. Although they mostly fell off, those that managed to hang in there have now browned the soap. I've been gifting these and have been explaining to my giftees that this browning is...

Wow, that is serious soda ash. In case I ever get it (soda ash that has crystalized like that) , although it does border on looking decorative, I'm wondering if you can get rid of it like you get rid of other soda ash, i.e. steaming, etc.?

What do you do when your batter seizes? What will be the impact of all this water? and, do some FO's react poorly with ground oatmeal? Well, it looks like I haven’t learned my lesson(s). The lessons being 1) to try to go with the flow instead of trying to force batter to do what I wanted...

@kristina_mko , as @basti indicated, it is not really possible to get the same type of sculpting in the top of M&P that is so common in cold process. But, as @FFLinOhio said, you can still decorate or add some texture to the top of your M&P bars. I have done it by dripping partially cooled...
