    Other uses for M&P?

I've had a problem with M&P sweating pretty badly in our humid weather. But, I recently got some Clear No Sweat base. So, I'm looking forward to experimenting a little more with M&P embeds in CP soap. @jeanemarie Great idea!! I'm definitely going to try that!!

Can regular M&P soap base be used for Foaming Whipped Sugar Scrub?

@AliOop thanks, I'm starting to think that my regular M&P base will not work for these scrubs.:( oh well,🤷‍♀️ I think I can still try to make some liquid soap with it.' I thought I was ahead of the game going to the M&P forum 🤷‍♀️ that fine print ... it'll get you every time!!!

    Pentagon shaped column soap mold

The above bar was made with melt and pour. I made about 35 little hexagons to create that bar. But, I've since watched some utube videos using the "drop swirl technique." I'm thinking it's possible to come up with a less literal, more artsy soccer ball cold process soap.

    Pentagon shaped column soap mold

@jackie'o , I looked far and wide for a column mold to make a soccer ball soap. I didn't want just the ball, I wanted the ball on the pitch with the sky in the background. I didn't find anything. On Temu, I found a cookie plunger cutter. It is a hexagon shape...

Can regular M&P soap base be used for Foaming Whipped Sugar Scrub?

@Pru posted a link to an Ellen Ruth Soap Utube to make a Foaming Whipped Sugar Scrub. I thought I'd move the discussion to the M&P forum since it is made with M&P base. I watched that video. I have a couple different lemon based FO's that I've been wanting try out. I think this Foaming...

    Other uses for M&P?

@Nona'sFarm , M&P is definitely a whole different scene than CP. I also have a ton of super cute embed molds and single cavity molds. I love the detail that can be achieved with M&P - probably why I went overboard with the M&P bases... I'm glad I might have more time to use up my bases!

    Ph

@Nona'sFarm , I had completely forgotten about that! But, you are completely right! I am still hoping 🤞 that the olive oil pomace was the culprit so that @Katsbe's problem is solved and so that she can move on ...

    2lilboots soaps again

I have never used Kaolin Clay. After reading your post, I googled and read a bunch of articles about Kaolin. it does seem to be recommended for a couple different reasons, but that as an added benefit, it helps brighten the whites. So much to learn, so much to try .... I guess I'm going to...

    2lilboots soaps again

@2lilboots , I've been struggling with TD. It doesn't really disperse that well for me on any consistent basis and looks really funky on cured bars. So I am looking for other options- I've bought TD from other suppliers and also white micas that I haven't yet tried (actually, I tried one mica...

    Ph

@Katsbe , that seems to have been an easily solved mystery! Hopefully its the olive oil pomace and you can move on to some great feeling soap! Keep us posted and good luck!

    Other uses for M&P?

@AliOop , that would be awesome and greatly appreciated if you could post your results!! Since I haven't really figured out the "preservative" thing, please be sure to let us know what "preservative" you used! I can't wait!! BTW, that's some long lasting M&P base, is that normal? I only...

    Other uses for M&P?

@Pru, have you tried adding an exfolliant to the base? Like expresso grinds, ground oatmeal or poppy seeds? Maybe the scrubbiness might detract from the oily feeling you get right now? Let us know if anything works out- If you try making liquid soap like in the video @AliOop suggested, I'd be...

    Ph

@Katsbe, I've never tested the Ph of my soap. And, I'm a fairly new soaper, too. But, I'm wondering how long you let your soap cure? Generally, from reading posts on this forum and blogs and articles elsewhere on the internet, I understand that i you give a soap that feels harsh to you a...

Yes, I think Chiuri is very regional and grows at high altitudes.

Very Disappointed With Camden Grey Order Advice Needed

@justsomeguy - okay, yeah, you've got it bad :) I stopped buying EO's, and I'll use my gigantic stash for M&P only because they seem to burn off in CP despite being pretty pricey. I'm glad you didn't describe the EO's you bought any sooner. I may have been tempted.... Yeah, been there, done...

    What increases "longevity"?

@Zuleika , you have a good point. I have so much soap I can't even test them all. So, I should be praying for soap melt-downs in the shower so that I can put new soaps in the shower. I hadn't even thought about a soap's hardness or longevity until my younger son raised the concern. He thought...

Very Disappointed With Camden Grey Order Advice Needed

@justsomeguy goodness, just how big was your order? Or was it like me when I'm looking for my reading glasses and they are on my head? I was going to order ROE, because it was a great price and I've been meaning to get some. I thought I could then just get other things to make it worth my...

    What increases "longevity"?

@JillGat , I have been walking around in circles for the last couple months trying to tweak my recipe to increase hardness and longevity. I was stuck at 26 to 27 on longevity. I wanted to get in up to at least 30. About 10 days ago, I decided to try stearic acid. Posts and threads here and...
