    My new “stamp”

Can you provide a governmental website that states such regulation? I’ve simply not been able to find that. Here’s another governmental regulation screenshot, from the FDA.

    My new “stamp”

Ooooh that’s really interesting, I’ve never heard that the weight has to be at the bottom before. Is that according to CPSC? Where would I find that information? I found this, on NIST.gov, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, about measurements on packaging. I see where it says...

    My new “stamp”

Thank you all for your feedback. This would be a wrapper stamp, 2” circles. Above soap will be the ounces or grams, and below will be the fragrance. Am I allowed to share the company name? When it’s not blurred out, I do think it’s a bit more balanced... but I may be biased ;) Also, SOAP is not...

    My new “stamp”

The designer I hired provided a 3D mock-up of the label stamp, I blurred out my company name (not sure if it was allowed). The ounces and scent will be handwritten. What are your thoughts?

Hi I don’t have an answer for you but I was hoping you could post a photo? I’m also new and I haven’t come across this issue yet

    Long time to trace/using heat

I’m sorry I didn’t include an update in this post; I thought the batch was bad anyway so why not experiment? That’s why I rebatched with juice. I didn’t intend for it to turn brown, but it actually became very pretty AND corrected my hardness issue. So all in all, this experiment was a success...

    Long time to trace/using heat

Um, well I’ve read where someone tried orange juice, but tbh I don’t remember what their result was. I have read a LOT of posts, but mostly right before I go to bed, so it’s very likely I’m missing important bits of information. I should take better notes!

    Caramelization...?! UPDATE

Yes my mixer beaters are stainless steel. I unmolded from the silicone molds at 22 hours after pouring, they have improved from the original hardness, to my liking. The color reminds me of cocoa brownies, I have to watch my kids don’t try to bite into them!

    Long time to trace/using heat

My lye was brand new, just bought it a few days prior. I have another post on here about this same batch, it did harden but not to my liking. I rebatched it and added pear juice, it turned brown, (see: CARAMELIZATION...?!). I’m guessing as a reaction with the lye. I poured it into my molds...

    Caramelization...?! UPDATE

Update: I think the “caramel” was the lye reacting with the juice. I got out my hand mixer (the old thing with two beaters) and it turned a coppery color, I thought it looked nice. Also it increased in volume like 3 times what it was!! Since I figured I had ruined this batch anyways, I poured...

    Caramelization...?! UPDATE

First time making lye soap yesterday. I was impatient so I sped up trace on the stovetop, on medium heat. Did I mention I was impatient? I unmolded this morning. It was hard, but I could dent it with my finger and it also was crumbly around the edges. So I decided to rebatch. (Has ‘impatient’...

Difference in HP vs CP method

Is the difference between HP and CP method really just adding heat after trace?
