    Brambleberry Recommendations

Crisp Anjou pear doesn't accelerate trace, and doesn't discolor CP soap. And it's a nice crisp fragrance

Thx Thanks to all who replied. Just unmolded the soap and it's fine, except for a slightly disfigured top, which can easily be planed off.

    Ghost swirl?

I've read several posts which refer to ghost swirl. Can someone explain to me what that is and how you achieve it? Thanks.

    best recipe for swirling

Can someone suggest a good recipe to be used for making a swirled soap? Some of the soaps I've made go to trace very quickly, and I need time to play with the colors! Brambleberry does sell a mix for this but I prefer to mix my own oils. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    orange top?

Still very new at this--about 8 batches (including one epic fail) under my belt but still finding myself surprised by results! I had made a batch of soap I (and friends and family) really liked. It's a goat milk soap. Recipe as follows: 9 oz coconut oil 21 oz olive oil 9 oz goat milk...

    Soap smells chemical-y/like hair dye

beginner I'm a beginner, but I just had a similar experience. Scented my goat's milk soap with coconut cream scent from Brambleberry (tested for use in cold process soap) After curing for six weeks, I am not fond of the scent--smalls somewhat burned to me. I froze the milk and as such I...

    pH question

I've just ordered some test strips (because I'm just not brave enough to do a zap test!) I've read that the proper pH of cured soap should be 9-10. Do you folks agree?

    What's on the surface??

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I did not cover it. The plastic you see in the photo is bubble wrap, which is lining the molds I was aiming for a "honeycomb" look when I peeled it off. But I did not cover the surface at all--just the alcohol spray.
