    Curing Soap

When curing your soap, how long do you leave your cut bars exposed to air after cutting? Do you lay them out flat, set up on end like dominos, lay on a cloth or paper towel? Thanks!

Batch 2&3: Blue Goo and Baby Poo

Hi Earline, Yes, the wax color is skin safe. The reason there are dark spots of green is that I tried to add more to darken up the color right before the poor, but the small amount I melted into some almond oil instantly set when I poured it in the mix and the mixer just ground it up and...

First Ever Batch - What's the white layer?

Thanks Everyone Thank you all for your replies. Definitely soda ash - rinsed right off. Used it in the bath last night and proved to be a great bar of soap. Not very bubbly but cleaned well and didn't dry my skin out, so I'm pretty happy with it. :) And I love the Tea Tree Oil smell.

Howdy from Texas! The wife and I were looking to do something with our used cooking oil, so on a whim I looked up soap making and found this forum. Made our first batch today using 80% used peanut oil and 20% coconut oil. Hopefully it will turn out. Any suggestions on deodorizing the...
