    Packing

Display stock is just for display - leave one of each naked. Package the rest.

    When will my luck change

Don't worry about something you can't control. Do the things you can if it makes you feel better. (Ie, update your resume, rewrite a draft to have ready for LinkedIn, etc. ). Cross the bridge when you get to it. You have some warning that there might be a problem, that means you can prepare for...

Thoughts on This Shave Soap Recipe --NOOB HERE

I want to know how you are going to "French mill" a soap paste? It is my understanding that French milling require the contents to be put under extreme pressure and rolled over and over. Do you have a milling machine?

    Lye Heavy Soap paste ???

When you say this is lye heavy, you are doing a zap test right? You are not depending on drops or strips to test? Drops and strips are notoriously inaccurate for testing for lye heaviness, so I want to make sure you are not depending on them.

    Latex Allergies and oils

The best answer to your question is no it doesn't mean they are automatically allergic, however they have a much higher chance of being allergic to the various oils if they are allergic to latex. Same goes for avocado, and the oil. Again, they may or may not be allergic to soap made with those...

    New packaging

I like the packaging but covering up your soaps seven is sacrilege! I love your soap designs and stamps and although I like the package, I think your soap needs to shine through!

Covering costs - what number are you using?

I do too but I suspect it is because I was a bookkeeper for 20+ years!

Covering costs - what number are you using?

I edited to give you an actual cost breakdown of an actual market. Hope it helps.

Covering costs - what number are you using?

If I were to use that example I personally would compare net sales although I have a feeling most people use gross sales. The reason I don't use 4xbooth fee or whatever is because it does not encompass all aspects. The market could be a bad choice and you could be losing money making 4x the...

    Feedback needed please

I say try it the way you have it written. Try it you may like it, sometimes you need to bend the rules a bit to find your own favorite recipe. The old stand by's will give you the old stand by. This is why we formulate our own recipes - once you try what you think you'll like then tweak it...

    Colored Lather....good or bad?

As long as it doesn't stain, I would use it for kids. They will love it, and moms love anything that can get the kids to use the soap!

    Face lotion

I'm going to suggest you go to swifty's blog. She has a lot of good information there for formulating lotions. I believe most of us here stick to basic emulsions, perhaps with a little propylene glycol, silk proteins, and ewax. However I have not seen anyone discuss using retinol. ( that...

    bath bomb crisis

Cream of tartar is what I use in bubble bars to help them crumble, I would eliminate it and the water. Personally I use some oil, they help in the molding, however keep in mind too much lessens the fizz so find the happy medium. You can not remold bath bombs after a fail, just crumble them...

    Dealing with dishonesty

Personally I think you are over reacting. You do not have enough of the true details to make a judgement one way or the other, detailed person or not. You have suspicions of why this was done, but really only the seller knows the real reason and whether or not he told you the truth you got the...

    Issues with bath bombs.

I use a bit of oil in mine as well. You should not lose fizz because of the butter or oil- the citric acid should not react with it, however you may have added too much witch hazel which will take the fizz out.

    Rescue snake update

So sorry for your loss. Animals can take hold of our hearts very quickly and it's never easy to let them go but you did the right thing for him.

What's the difference between these neem oils?

Just wanted to say if anyone knows of a fragrance that will cover the smell of neem please let me know! I've tried everything I can think of, even clove and tea tree, nothing covers the stench, and yes, I'm sorry, it is a stench. Oh and I would not put neem in any water I would bathe in, not...

Am I the only one who is afraid to share my soap with other soapers?

When I started soaping and friends and family were the testers I told them flat out that I didn't want to hear that they liked the soap. What I wanted to hear was every little thing that they didn't like, whether it was the feel of the soap on their skin, the lather, the color, fragrance, how...

    soap crumbled when cut

Soaps with a high percentage of coconut oil will become rock hard in only a few hours. When I make 100 percent coconut oil soap for laundry I have to cut it before it is fully gelled. ( the center is still gooey) Even then the edges shatter.
